Came for a brunch, relatively easy to get a table. Food was just ok, I recall it being much better and busier a few years ago. Wagyu hash had hardly any Wagyu in it, beef brisket burger was just ok. Croque madame was the only thing we really enjoyed. Only 1 waitress for about 10 tables of guest's, so service was a little slow. So many other options on King Street, I doubt we'll be back.
Friendly and attentive service. After spending ages looking at the menu cos everything just sounds so nice we ended up getting the scotch eggs and the salmon tacos and loved both. The tacos were fresh tangy and had 2 large pieces of salmon fillets perfectly cooked. Will definitely need to come back again to try all the other things on the menu!
I like the layout. Spacious and layback. Nice vibe. Coffee good too. Ordered the Three Little pigs, which was a plate of pork, pork and more pork without a lot of other flavours to cut through it at all. I like good black pudding but it was a bit dried out and bland. I'll skip it next time for something else. Others liked their dishes though. The only other criticism was the time it took between ordering and coffees/plates on the tables. Probably 10 min for the coffees, 30 min for the mains.
Love love love this place. The breakfasts are standard fare like eggs benedict, but the execution is faultless. Fresh, beautiful ingredients and cooked perfectly. For lunch, try the pulled pork sandwich. Huge pile of pork with coleslaw on fresh, crusty bread. Yum!
Been here previously and quite enjoyed the food. However, just ordered a chicken burger with fries and apple cinnamon smoothie and they were both disappointing. Apple smoothie was not cold, couldn't taste the apple and was kind of nauseating. Chicken breast was dry, and some brown avocado was fanned on the top of my bun. Expected better for $22. Disappointing.
Forgot our order. 3 other tables that arrived after us had their food delivered first. After 45 minutes of waiting, both orders were wrong. The double pancakes came out as a single. The other breakfast item was missing the Rosti side. We were given an excuse 'another table ordered Paella' this does not explain the 3 tables that ordered after us getting their breakfast orders. We were offered additional free coffees but did not have time to wait for these. Paid in full for the meals minus the forgotten items. No attempt was made to actually reduce the bill for slow service /forgotten order. A very poor brunch experience for average food.
Breakfast was amazing! I ordered the Avocado Scotch Eggs and what came out was something out of this world. It was a poached egg inside of an avocado, wrapped in crispy bacon. The service was also amazing, with the waiter very attentive and personable.
Very average food. Overpriced considering the quality of the food. I ordered the french toast. It was not good. You could smell the eggs... no maple syrup no cream no butter! Very simple! the egg Benedict was ok. The appearance of the food was very simple no decoration...
Watery, warm brekkie smoothies, took forever for my pancakes to come even though it was not at all busy inside...pancakes were as thick as ever and tasted like i was just eating a brick of flour. They charged me a $1 for maple syrup and only gave me a slice of a banana with my pancakes. Icrecream was literally a spoonful. Never again. Worst breakfast experience at a restaurant ever!
Disappointing ! We ordered Steak sandwich for lunch and although a very few people were in , it took 34 minutes for them to finally serve the meal ! dry bread , cold steak with a Chunck of cold and greasy caramelised onion and poor quality old vegetables. Never had such an incompetent dish before !
