Iconic spot. The new management provide excellent food and great service. Only qualm is the location. When sitting outside you feel like you're almost IN the traffic! Not the safest location but it's certainly convenient.
The best cafe in Newtown because they make the best brunch croissant I ever had. It is very convenient as it is located right opposite of Newtown station on King Street. The staff are very friendly too
I’m not sure what happened here but I ordered a B&E Roll and received this plain set up. No seasoning, no salt, no sauce. 3 points, purely because I felt fairly entertained by it on sunday morning.
The location is excellent !! It’s located right across the street in front of Newtown train station. I have tried their coffee and banana bread combo for $5 quite a few times in the mornings and would say their coffee is quite good and well presented. Customer service is nice and quick even if there is a queue.
I would say all of our food was okay but not outstanding. The corn fritters tasted odd to me but not sure if that was just a personal taste thing. The burger was okay but nothing about it stood out flavour wise. The garlic mushrooms were plentiful and quite nice, I would say they were the standout. The hash browns were also really good but they are pretty hard to get wrong. The coffee was good and the hot chocolate was okay but not stand out. The service though was attentive, smiley and all around lovely. Couldn’t fault it at all!
lady at the register was so unkind. When I was ordering, she got my order wrong multiple times so I had to tell here what I want several times. When the lady was serving the foods she wouldn't even say the name of them, just leaving it on the table so we had to ask what it was again and again. My smoothie took more than 15mins it was all melted! It was just a flavoured milk not a smoothie. Also I ordered the acai bowl and it was also half melted. Poor service, poor quality. Wouldn't be here again.
This was one of my favorite places to eat in Sydney , I had breakfast here most day as they have a great variety and everything is simply delicious. There food presentation is wonderful and now I try and re created some of these very tasty breakfasts back home . They have a great juice bar that does a really impressive mix of healthy energising cocktails that are really good for you . As it is set on a junction you can relax outside , eat great food and watch the locals pass by …. I just loved it here ! If you like food you really must go for lunch at Sydney fish markets which is a real find … it is just unbelievable so leave some space for lunch !
We spent 1 hours waiting for a breakfast order, 30 min after we ordered the staff tell us that one item cannot be served. The place looks short staffed. While waiting the staff let “homeless” style people sit in the cafe with strong odour. Did not enjoy the place and I do NOT recommend to visit. Won’t come back here! After the hour this is how they served
All the staff look so depressed, i wasn't sure but im pretty sure that their sadness oozed into my coffee. Actually the coffee was made really well and tasted great but one staff member refused to stamp my card.Food: 5/5
Average food and definitely below average service. Totally forgot my order! Isn't serving food that is ordered fundamental to a food service business lol. Too many better options in Newtown/Enmore. Avoid this one.
