Great park with lots of space and equipment for kids to play on. Good - spacious, lots of greens, trees and shade, it’s close to the beach and there are cafes close by. Bathrooms and changing rooms are also available which is good. You can get to the beach and some nice fishing spots through the north end of the park. Bad - parking, while free, is very hard to find in a busy weekend. Equipment is getting very dated, Could do with an update. Great place to picnic and relax!
One amazing place for anything to do with kiddos. Be ready to spend at least couple of hours here, playing on playground, exploring hidden spots of the park beach included and enjoying spectacular views of Auckland.
Point Chevaliar ...beatiful family park and fishing spot..."where the mountains meet the ocean there shall be florishment" a good example of this...nice benches and tables for picnicing...parking is plentiful..on the start and end of a convienant bus route..
Nice and spacious park with gorgeous waterfront views and beautiful big trees. Lots of room to play games, picnic or soak in the scenery. Café nearby too. A great destination for a weekend walk.
Haven’t been to the beach but you could get nice access to the rock where you can fish. Caught a few snapper around 30-35cm the other night. The car park is like a couple of minutes walk but be aware that the gate closes at 12:30am.
It’s a beautiful park, picnic spot, with gorgeous view of the Harbour bridge and city. Playground for kids and beach access for swimming and fishing, all in one spot for fun day.
Lovely walk around the park with beautiful views of the Auckland Harbour. Access to beach from carpark, beach is tidal but at low tide has rocks and caves to explore. Playground is a bit dated and needs some shade but still good for young kids. Toilet facilities on site.
If you go before 3pm the best time. It's hardly busy. but afterwards fills with a lot of people with dogs.
Very busy place indeed. Enjoyed the park being accessible. Need more stable pathways down some tracks that lead to the bay
It's a great park, and quite big. There is a big playground, and lots for the children to do. There are 2 issues which made the day less enjoyable. The carpark is very small. Many people had to park 1 or 2 kms away, and walk back. Many parked on yellow lines, because it is so small and limited. Access to the beach is very difficult. If you're young and lithe, then it's no problem. There is a narrow winding staircase with no railing. On the other side are steep ramps covered in sand, which makes it very slippery, or a lot of steps, again without a railing. Otherwise it's a beautifully kept park, with amazing sea and city views, and lovely big old trees.
