We are a small privately owned happy hostel in the heart of the beautiful Sunshine Coast. Relaxed and homely atmosphere will make you feel right at home!

Story

Cottontree Backpackers is a great place especially for travellers who want to experience a more local life style during their travels, as we are “off the beaten track”, but still in the middle of everything the Sunshine Coast has to offer. The Maroochy River is just on our door step, great for stand up paddling and kayaking. Local beach is only a short walk away for surfing or just chilling out! Sunshine Coats’s biggest shopping centre Sunshine Plaza is a 10 minute walk from us. We are also very close to the world famous Australia Zoo, with daily buses departing from Maroochydore. Depending on demand, we also organise trips to local attractions, including lovely Eumundi Markets, waterfalls in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, and monthly free local community live music event Peregian Originals. Thrill seekers can give kite surfing a go at the local beach, or people can just watch the kite surfers on the river from our front patio with a cold beer in their hand (before heading out to local pubs and night clubs of course!).
