Cooks garden motor Lodge will have to be the best place I have ever stayed, everything about this place was great. The heaters were turned on before we arrived so it was nice and warm. The owners are so lovely and approachable and will do anything to help. Sue was just absolutely amazing and made me feel so comfortable given the circumstances, she really went above and beyond and I really appreciate everything she done. I will definitely be recommending this place and I will be back Also the extra touch of fudge in the room was amazing it is so delicious
This motor lodge is highly recommended. The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated with nice decor and good facilities. The service is excellent and I would rate the motel as 5/5 for families - great welcoming and a small suitcase full of Lego to keep kids away from devices and meaningfully occupied. It’s also locally owned and operated by people rightfully proud in Whanganui and its region. Definitely would visit again.
Susan and Murray would have to be two of the best hosts in the motel industry.nnTheir service started from first point of contact!nI phoned the motel and Susan picked up within 3 rings-it was so refreshing to speak to a real person.nnThe booking was super simple, then when I called back a few days later to change it slightly- nothing was too much of a hassle.nnA third phone call was made, where we booked for a family member- again, very straightforward and speaking directly with a person.nnAll units have a brand new king sized bed in them, while ours had sky television- in both the lounge and bedroom. The bed is AMAZINGLY COMFORTABLE nnSusan and Murray explained they are slowly working through all units replacing bathrooms. Although our shower wasn’t one of the new ones, it had had amazing pressure. They’re also replacing carpet, etc. For those guests with little children, - the bathroom had a bath- a must have for bathing the littleies.nnTo be clear- there was absolutely nothing wrong with our bathroom or carpet!!!nnUpon arrival Susan gave us some bags of home made Russian fudge- she could sell these at a local market- it was that good!nnWe had two rooms booked- 1 for a single night, while the other for two nights. Still with 2 cars. There was no hassle parking the xtra car in front of a spare unit on the second night - as indicated by Susan.nnSusan and Murray deserve support- they are working hard to give a fantastic service and an exceptional memory.nnBest of luck with your continued hosting.nnThanks - Erica
Stayed here with a friend recently and the owners are fantastic, so helpful, genuinely caring. We were well looked after even though we arrived after dark. The owner set us up with somewhere to go for some food a great recommendation. The room was very clean and comfortable. The mini kitchen set up was perfect. The water pressure in the shower was perfect. I would highly recommend staying here and would return in a heartbeat. I only wish we had had more time to explore the area.
Excellent place to stay, stayed for 4 nights.clean and tidy rooms,comfortable bed,nice and quiet.high pressure showers and great heating with a heat pump.nMeals where cooked to my specific diet and where large portions.nWill stay again, staff are friendly and helpfull. A+++ service.
