Had dinner here on Saturday night and the service was amazing. Our waiter was Drew and we felt like we were at a 5 star restaurant. He was prompt with everything, nothing was missing from the order we are pretty fussy customers and he refilled our water glasses whenever they got low. Seriously the best service, thanks again Drew! There’s not many polite, friendly and highly capable waiters like you in hospitality anymore.
Great location but does not do pub food well. Salt and pepper squid $17 and fish and chips $26 was very disappointing. Really small serves for the price. The beer battered fish was all batter and not even good quality fish. We sat inside because of the rain the bar had no more than 10 people inside at 12pm on a Sunday. Many servers but they were walking around or talking to each other. When we first sat down they came to the table 3 times before we had read the menu and then we waited 20 minutes for them to come back and I needed to ask them to come and take our order. After we had gotten up and ordered the drinks from the bar ourselves. Really need to train your staff and chef needs a lesson in how to cook pub food. Won’t be back.
Don't order from the downstairs bar on a Sunday afternoon 3pm, 30.10.22 Staff stood around chatting, rather than serving. Simple food order took 35 minutes and was then served with attitude...like it was my fault! Could. Do. Much. Better
I recently stayed at the Coogee Bay Hotel and was extremely impressed with my experience. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable and the location was perfect. The hotel is situated right on Coogee Beach and is within walking distance to a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes. The hotel also has a great rooftop bar with stunning views of the beach. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great getaway.
Great location but that's as far as great went. Calamari share plate was actually an entree size so not large enough to share. The manager offered us a refund but was told by the chef she couldn't do that so brought out a second share plate but it was cold. Fish and chips came but chips were cold. There must be plenty of places to eat that are way better than this. Certainly won't be going back.
Very good night felt a bit uncomfortable with Indian bouncer kept staring at me. When I was out happy a fantastic night. Enjoyed the Cocktails and the Espresso Martinis loved it. Halo Bouncer just didn't just give it 5 Stars
Food was not great and they managed to prepare the food faster than the cocktails. The place was pretty empty so not sure how drinks took so long. Good beach view, but better places around this area
My first visit to this hotel. Loved the outdoor seating although the music was a bit loud, but very nice area. This was lunch service on Tuesday 4/10/2022. What let this hotel down is the extremely poor service. The bar staff...all one of them...was slow. The food was good, but one main was served before the other entree's and when we queried this with the waiter, he just shrugged it off. WE saw one waiter wander around with a bowl of fries for about 10 to 15 minutes trying to find the owner!! If they increased and improve the bar staff....this would be a good expierence.
Great bar and pub, it's massive. Outdoor area, upstairs seating, TAB bar and another restaurant on site. Great selection of beers and wine. Service fast and with a smile. Really enjoyed the atmosphere on a Sunday arvo.
As we arrived I went up to the security guard to ask where to go as we had a booking. Firstly gave me the rudest look then said haven’t you already been kicked out of here? It was a Monday afternoon I have never been here before. He then angrily said you can’t come in here, go around it was the front entrance how would he expect everyone to know that, we went around the corner to the gate and found 2 more security guards which were blatantly ignoring us when we asked where to go, tried explaining we had a booking. Literally turning around from us pretending not to hear us. Food was the only good part
