Coober Pedy. Well, how do I describe this place? The Comfort Inn is amazing. The staff are so helpful and supportive of all of your touring requirements. I met a few locals Von & Mick who graciously invited me to their house and working claim just near the black flag. It is such a welcoming community that should be visited, and also entrancing at the same time. It was the best sleep I have ever had in an underground dug-out. Do yourself a favour and visit Coober Pedy
Set away from the main street, but in walking distance of everything, this is a comfortable hotel in Coober Pedy. A good experience of underground living. We had a spacious room, clean & tidy with everything we needed. There's a small breakfast area & very pleasant staff in reception. On a road trip to Uluru and we were recommended the comfort inn. Stunning cavernous hotel carved deep into the rock. Deep tranquil sleep in a comfortable, and incredibly fair priced suite. But the very best part was the service. Shout out to the hotel manager Melissa who was courteous, warm, had great local knowledge and made us feel so at home. Highly, highly recommend! Nearby activities: The mine museum next door run by Nick is a great local activity and sells beautiful opals and jewelry from the land!
This place is well below standard. The hallway stinks of cleaning products masking the smell of mould. They had dryers and washing machines running in open space shared with the hallway with minimal ventilation. Fans lined the hallway in a desperate attempt to direct the horrible smells away from the rooms photos included. Outside stunk of sewage. Room was outdated and in need of repair. Last time we stayed at Coober Pedy, we stayed at Desert Cave. Highly recommend them. No smell and the rooms are much cooler and cleaner than the Comfort Inn.
Oh my gosh! Mel was an absolute superstar! Completely delightful to chat to, offered us fantastic recommendations, a wealth of knowledge and makes an incredible coffee as well! It was so delightful getting to stay in such a fantastic room and feel so welcomed by such a fantastic community. Thank you so much for making our stay in your lovely town a wonderful one!
Coober Pedy experience includes having ya Ute tray run-through and stuff stolen, including fire extinguishers. Be sure to lock away valuables before leaving your car out for the night my bad to be fair. Other than that rooms were nice and cool and service was okay.Rooms: 4/5
Great place to stay for the underground experience. The staff were so lovely, especially Melissa who helped us out with info about the local area. Recommend exploring the hallways which have interesting little nooks and crannies tucked away. Also, the place is located in a perfect spot to have a walk around town. Definitely go up to the Big Winch 360 to have a bite to eat or even just to look at the views. The rooms were basic but still give you the underground experience. When booking, contact them direct as online pricing will cost you a lot more.
If you really want an underground experience then this is the place for you. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and fresh, but no place to sit except the bed.. or beds. Cafe on site was not really a cafe and never open so be sure to ask where good coffee can be found.. the lovely team know all the good places to go.
Friendly staff, room 14, have no cold water so be prepared to wash with extreme hot water or use kitchen sink in the morningRooms: 3/5
We stayed 2 nights. Mellisa, have super customer service and friendly. Amenities are top standard and spotless. Loved the location, rooms are clean and fresh. Kids enjoyed the underground experience.Rooms: 5/5
