The shopping center was clean and well-maintained, which was a relief, especially since just two hours earlier I had the unpleasant experience of visiting the Armadale shopping center. It was nice not to have to navigate through crowds of seedy people lingering around the entrance.

AVOIDnA very unpleasant experience I had at Coles Melville on 30/04/24.nnAfter purchasing my groceries at the self checkout, I went to check on the receipt, noticing one particular item got overcharged as advertised.nnI then went to the front desk and try to resolve the issue. I believed a woman by the name of UPKAR who served me at the time was incredibly unprofessional due to her poor management skill & problem solving skill. After explaining the issue to her, she sent out one of her colleague A good lad to check on the item from the freezer. Later I got told that the discount tag shouldn't be there in the first place as they somehow forgot to take it down from last week. Moreover, I also got told that the item I got was also different to the discount tag even it named identical and it was sitting in the same box!nnInstead of de-escalate the situation, she did the complete opposite. All I want was trying to pay for the correct amount for my item as advertised. I never mention anything about the free item policy. She insisted to keep going on about it. It was never my intention. She embrassed me Infront of people due to her loud voice that draw a lot of attention. It was absolutely unnecessary. At the end, I had to refund the item instead which I could have happily pay for!nnLooking at others reviews about this store. It seems to be a continuous behaviour of hers. Alot of shoppers have similar experiences as well. It gets very frustrating when you have employee like UPKAR working at the front desk serving people. It turns down people from coming back. I hope you read this UPKAR, do something you enjoy because clearly you are not.
My usual positive experience at this Coles was spoiled today because the free fruit cart was empty and the staff couldn’t be bothered to refill it. This left me struggling to rush my shopping with a grumpy two-year-old.
Dismal experience in every way, empty shelves, rude staff, shelf stackers charging around with large trolleys pushing past people. No idea about service and no idea about safety. Over priced and massively over rated. The ACCC are on the right track.
