It's an old, smaller store, and it's showing its age.nThey're often out of stock of certain items and it can take days, weeks to re-stock. Some products never reappear though.nEmpty boxes sit on shelves for days and there are often items in completely the wrong sections, as customers don't seem to care, so long as it's out of their cart. Milk can be found well away from the refrigerated section and one wonders if it just gets put back eventually, well on its way to going off.nI'm within walking distance, which is why I go there, and put up with the shortcomings.nThe shelf filling staff seem to consider that they have right of way, customers are just a nuisance, and they'll nearly block an isle with a diagonal parked pallet.nI went looking for Basil, and they don't have it. Not out of stock, there's no spot for it.nWhen they're closing, they give an announcement to finish and leave, but while other stores will have a pre-recorded announcement that just requires the push of a button, here they have nothing so modern. Someone has to make the announcement individually each time. Quaint.
This is honestly the worst shopping experience I have ever had. I have visited North Perth Plaza and Coles many times, and every time it gets worse.nnThe entire centre lacks cleanliness. There is a constant bad smell, rubbish everywhere, including plastic, receipts, and papers — especially near Coles. The toilets are single, extremely dirty, and poorly maintained.nnColes itself is the worst part. The customer service is completely broken. Most of the staff look angry, frustrated, and behave as if they are in a battlefield. They rarely assist customers properly and often act in an unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful manner. The management is just as bad — unhelpful, unprofessional, and not interested in solving any issues.nnI strongly recommend avoiding this place. One of the most unpleasant stores and centres I have ever visited. Never going back.
If I could give zero stars then I would. About 5 days ago I ordered food. I have a disability and I am vulnerable and I’m poor. Coles took my money. Then with no time left to deliver said it couldn’t be delivered. I sent 2 emails to Cole’s, the ACCC, and I think some AU privacy ombudsman. No response. No delivery. No refund. No possible way of obtaining a refund. I lost money. I am hungry. There’s no one to help. I can’t speak on phone due to my disability. Monday 12 Jan, by 5:35pmnRapidnOrder numbern242332122nPlaced 12 January 2026nnWhen I click through the missing items? You can’t do it. When I click contact customer care it takes me back to the same stupid page. I have tried contacting them. See email with invoice attached sent to 2 x Cole’s employees as well as the general Cole’s email + 2 x government help emails.nnNothing.nnNo reply. No money. No food. No rescourse.
Shopping at Coles here is very convenient because of the spacious parking area. This place holds many memories for me as it is close to my child’s school and easily accessible by bus from East Perth.
The service manager, Tracy, was extremely rude and unprofessional. The way she spoke to people was disrespectful and uncomfortable. If someone doesn’t enjoy their job, it shouldn’t be taken out on others. Coles management should speak to this person.
