This is honestly the worst shopping experience I have ever had. I have visited North Perth Plaza and Coles many times, and every time it gets worse.nnThe entire centre lacks cleanliness. There is a constant bad smell, rubbish everywhere, including plastic, receipts, and papers — especially near Coles. The toilets are single, extremely dirty, and poorly maintained.nnColes itself is the worst part. The customer service is completely broken. Most of the staff look angry, frustrated, and behave as if they are in a battlefield. They rarely assist customers properly and often act in an unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful manner. The management is just as bad — unhelpful, unprofessional, and not interested in solving any issues.nnI strongly recommend avoiding this place. One of the most unpleasant stores and centres I have ever visited. Never going back.
I rated Coles North Perth two stars not because of the staff or the store presentation, but because of the lack of product diversity. In fact, the staff at this location are easily the best I have ever interacted with at any Coles store. They are consistently professional, approachable, and genuinely helpful. Whether it is at the checkout, the deli, or the service desk, they maintain a level of customer care that sets a clear standard for other stores to follow. The team clearly takes pride in their work and creates a welcoming environment every time I shop there.nnHowever, the store’s strong service is being let down by poor stock variety. The range feels repetitive and narrow, offering the same predictable items week after week. This lack of diversity removes the sense of discovery that keeps customers engaged. It feels like the product decisions are based purely on generalised national data, not on the preferences of the North Perth customer base, which leans toward quality, variety, and premium flavour options.nnA key example is the absence of Dare Iced Coffee “Intense.” It is a strong, full-flavoured product that would perform extremely well in this area. Customers here are more likely to explore bold, high-impact items, and failing to stock this product shows a gap in alignment between corporate stock decisions and actual local demand. Competing retailers in nearby suburbs have already introduced it with great results.nnColes North Perth has the staff, the presentation, and the environment to be one of the best-performing stores in the region, but the product diversity does not reflect that same standard. Expanding the range with more innovative and high-demand products like Dare “Intense” would align the store’s offerings with the quality of its people and the expectations of its customers.
Shopping at Coles here is very convenient because of the spacious parking area. This place holds many memories for me as it is close to my child’s school and easily accessible by bus from East Perth.
Store is inside the North Perth Plaza shopping centre arcade. Always plenty of trolleys available. Store clean and tidy with generally decent friendly staff.nShelves in general tend to be well stocked on most occasions.nParking can sometimes be an issue with not a lot of parking available, and only a couple of disabled parking spots allocated.
Update.. always no eggs in this store…nThis Coles in good location, but there are no many parking space here.nService was good. But there were no any eggs in Wednesday night.. only broken eggs left.nI took 2 good eggs to the counter and told them there were no more egg, so they gave me free eggs. So good service..
