It used to be a good supermarket, however since Woolies down the road has announced their closure, this Coles is getting slack. Shelves here are always empty - what I want is always out of stock. I guess now their main competition has closed, they don't really have much reason to try hard. Now that this is the only big supermarket in the area, I hope they'll up their game for the sake of the local people.
One of the most useless retail spaces on Smith Street. The shelves are half empty, the stock that is there is often past its use-by date, and the staff look like they’d rather be anywhere else. The car park is another joke - it seems to operate as the cheapest all-day parking in the area rather than serving actual customers, so good luck finding a space. Honestly, the street would be far better off if this store closed and was replaced by the Woolworths that’s temporarily shut.
I am increasingly finding this Coles is inadequately stocked. I often find entire sections of fruit, veg, eggs and cheese basic food! sections completely empty. And noticed it's not only for just one day, as I'll go back subsequent days and still find nothing. Now with Woolies closed, Coles being the only option nearby, this is super frustrating.
I usually enjoy shopping at Coles, but I’ve had consistently disappointing experiences with the bakery staff. Time and time again they come across as unkind and unwilling to help with simple queries. A couple of weeks ago Nipun helped me out at the bakery section and he greeted me with a smile and exceptional customer service, which was a welcome breath of fresh air!nnGood customer service should make you feel welcome and valued, but unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case in the bakery section. I hope Coles addresses this issue, as the rest of the store is generally well-stocked and pleasant to shop in.
One of the better Coles stores in the area, specifically when you compare it to the two Richmond stores, this easily trumps those two. Firstly it’s bigger and has more variety. They stock my favourite cut of beef; rib eye on bone! Pretty much every cut of steak was available, from organic grown, to Coles’ packaged brand, down to the lamb and pork offerings.nnLovely to see some history of the original store. Would love to see them open it up as some sort of display to know more of this national household name.
