We had a fantastic night at the Tuesday night buffet. It’s exactly as advertised. A warm, generous meal in unpretentious surroundings. We loved the food. There is so much variety on offer. Our favourites were the chicken, beef and vegetable dishes and especially the egg curry which I’d never had anywhere else l. The staples were also great including rice, roti and there was plenty of raita and chutney on offer. There was so much to eat and it was encouraged that you try a bit of everything and, importantly, dishes were quickly replenished. I saw one guy have four large plates! Apart from the egg curry, my favourite was the lassi which was exceptional. Overall what I loved about this meal was the superb range of spices. All dishes had serious flavour and to us, good heat just pitched just at the right level.nnService was lovely throughout the night and the overall cost of the experience seemed very modest to us.nnThank you for this experience. A terrific placennPS - we ran into an Indian chap and mentioned in passing that we were going to Kerala next year. The man volunteered that he thought that the Coconut Lagoon offered the best Kerala cuisine in Melbourne. Thank you so much for the tip
Have been coming here for few years now, the food never disappoints. I have seen locals come with their mates, sit for hours enjoying few drinks, food and finishing with a cup of Indian tea or coffee - this speaks a lot about this place! We love their tandoori prawns, mutton roast and Kuttanadan fish curry - totally yum. If there one thing they could improve upon, it is hospitality especially when the owner is not around
Been going there for 10 years now and it's amazing to see that the authentic flavours and taste is still the same.nnThe buffet on Tuesday nights are definitely a must go.
As a retired chef I found this food amazing every taste bud was used I was there on a Tuesday night the buffet was hot and always full and so many different dishes to choose from the accompanying pickles and chutneys made from scratch, went so well with the meal, as did the buttermilk and the masala tea. I will definitely be back every week.
The food was amazing. The service was good too. The problem was... We had to wait for 45 minutes before the food got to our table. And the place wasn't even full! There were only three tables full in the restaurant. Still it took them 45 mins to bring the food. That was the only negative.nThe food itself was really good. This place specialises in south Indian cuisine, so best stay away from north indian dishes like butter chicken. Highly recommend this place, but please be aware of the long wait to get the food.
