I've bought a number of Coast to Coast RV products in the past and I've always found them to be good quality gear at a reasonable price - so today I bought a Coast to Coast fold-out picnic table for my van. Unfortunately however, when I unpacked the unit at home less than 45 minutes after buying it from Absolute Caravan Care in Balcatta WA, I found that it had been damaged in packing/transit. No major problem there, these things happen, so I contacted Absolute Caravan Care to ask them to order a new unit (as I bought the last one they had in stock), so I could exchange it.

However, to my shock, instead of Absolute Caravan Care taking responsibility, arranging a new item, and dealing with Coast to Coast's warranty department themselves, they informed me that this was in effect MY problem. No they won't order a replacement, but they'd be happy for me to return the item to their shop, and THEN they'll go through the warranty process - after which I'll eventually get my replacement table. Alternatively, as it now appears is my only practical option, I can contact the Coast to Coast warranty myself and arrange a replacement, exchange shipping, etc...

Honestly, what terrible service from Coast to Coast's reseller - Absolute Caravan Care! The fact that they sold me a defective product, even though that in itself is not their fault, shouldn't become MY problem. They should simply focus on getting their customer metaphorically 'back on the road', and then deal with the Coast to Coast in the background. Coast to Coast make great products, but if their resellers provide appalling customer service then perhaps they need to rethink the criteria they use for selecting their resellers.
