While staying in the Grand Papua Hotel, club Illusion was just across the street. Good place for music and nice effects, however it wasn't the safest place I was ever been.

i made the mistake of going out at night in Port Moresby, and let me tell you, it was one of the worst mistakes of my entire life. it is well known that gangs of raskols roam the streets at night in PM, often they wield machetes, and some gangs cruise around in trucks loaded to the brim with machete wielding raskols looking for unsuspecting victims. naturally, it is not a good idea to step outside at night, but i decided to try a nightclub in hopes that it would be safer and fun. well it turns out the the entire place was packed with raskols and many of them hand managed to bring in weapons. i was standing on the dance floor trying to groove to the music, when i felt a sharp object being prodded into my side. i turned, and a raskol was jabbing me with a machete motioning with his hand to give him my belongings. i handed over my wallet reluctantly. no without money for a taxi, i would have to venture out into the gauntlet on foot. leaving the club, i scampered out into the street and noticed a truck full of raskols barreling towards me. i darted behind an old shop front, and ducked from view. the truck drove by. peering out, it seemed momentarily still, so i made a break for the next shelter i could see. it was a tree. sliding behind it, i breathed heavily and beads of sweat were now pouring down my head... then i heard a snickering and turned to the side. several raskols were watching me from an adjacent alley way. that was it, there was no outrunning them. i awoke several days later in the icu at the PMGH. they had beaten me and stripped me. i barely survived. it took years to recover. don't make the same mistake as me.

Nice nightclub located at Downtown Port Moresby. They have a pool/billiard table where you can play. LED lights all over the place.
