Chemist Warehouse Southbank now charges for statutory declaration as a private services, at $2 per signature, the cost can add up quickly.nnI’ve visited many Chemist Warehouse stores across Melbourne to have statutory declarations witnessed, and this was the first time I was ever asked to pay a fee — $2 per signature, not a donation.nnAt Chemist Warehouse Southbank 250 Sturt Street, I was informed upfront that the service would cost $2. I chose to proceed only to obtain a receipt as proof that this store now officially charges for a service that is usually offered free or with a gold coin donation elsewhere.nnWhen I mentioned that I’ve never been charged at other Chemist Warehouse locations, the staff told me that other stores charge even more, which was both surprising and concerning based on my past experiences.nnThis isn’t about the $2 — it’s about the lack of transparency, inconsistency between stores, and the shift away from what many consider a basic community service.nnThink twice before visiting this store for witnessing documents — at $2 per signature, the cost can add up quickly.
I would give zero stars if that was an option. I stood at the counter to fulfil a script for 5mins before having to asked to be served. The young pharmacist appeared to be half asleep and mumbled and then couldn’t be clear about a common over the counter medicine. I walked out with zero help as she was not coherent.
Last week I was waiting for the chemist to open when I witnessed a male staff member speak very rudely and abusively to a lady at the door before the store opened. She repeatedly asked him to speak respectfully, yet he continued his aggressive and abusive behaviour without any provocation. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable conduct. I would not recommend this chemist due to the rude staff and poor customer service.
Bad experience. The purchase limit wasn’t explained clearly, and staff gave conflicting information. I fully understand store policies, the issue is not the rule, but the manager’s aggressive attitude. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary. Terrible customer service — won’t be back.
As a new mum to a 4-week-old, I made a trip to Chemist Warehouse to buy baby formula. Exhausted and sleep-deprived, I accidentally picked up the wrong one—something I only realised once I got home. Like many new parents, leaving the house isn’t always easy, especially when you're nursing a newborn, so I couldn’t return that same day.nWhen I came back the next day to exchange it for the correct formula, I was told by staff that they couldn’t help me. I explained my situation, hoping for some understanding or compassion, but was met with indifference. I was told, quite bluntly, that it wasn’t their problem.nI left feeling completely disheartened—disrespected, even. To the woman at the counter and the manager: if you ever become a parent, I truly hope no one treats you the way you treated me that day. It was an incredibly disempowering experience during what is already a vulnerable time
