Absolutely horrible. Bland, tasteless, full of MSG. Hope I’m not ill. $20 per dish for takeaway represents terrible value for money. If I had more sense I’d have had chicken schnitzel at the Criterion where you can sit in for $20. More fool me.
We got takeaway from here and took it to the park across the road - note that this restaurant only does takeaway with no eat in options. Ordered sweet and sour pork, veggie fried rice, chicken and sweet corn soup, veggie chow mein and prawn crackers total $63. Menu was not cheap eg $7 for a small steamed rice, pretty much Sydney prices which was unexpected in a country town. Food was surprisingly good, heavy on the corn starch, as was expected, but not too salty. Portion sizes were confusing, the bag of prawn crackers was huge beach ball size, but the crispy noodles given for the chow mein was literally only a handful. The portion of veggies for the chow mein however was generous and fresh. Note that it seems catered to takeaway to be eaten at home, don’t forget to ask for cutlery and serviettes if eating elsewhere as they are not provided as standard.
Travelling from Sydney to Melbourne and decided to stopped by Gundagai for 3 days. We were craving for some Asian food and we came across this Chinese restaurant and gave it a try. We ordered fried rice and some spring rolls and it was AMAZING!! It tasted exactly how it tasted back at home Malaysia. Definitely satisfied our cravings for Chinese food. Highly recommend !!!
Absolutely horrid. The young lad who took our order was rude and surly. The food was expensive, lukewarm and tasteless. The worst Chinese food I have ever had. Avoid and go to the pub.
Food was great even though they mixed up the order instead of lemon chicken gave us honey chicken.Food: 5/5
Good suburban / country town style takeaway Chinese. Nothing fancy....but a good simple feed. Because of mixed reviews by other people, we stuck to basic dishes standard fried rice, chicken omelette and stir fried vegetables. Big containers meant we had enough for second night 2 people. I'd try more adventurous dishes next time, based on quality of what we had this time.
This place should be shut down it’s so terrible. They charge ridiculous prices and then reheat you 5 day old poor Chinese food in a microwave. They also use their son as slave labour to serve you because they can’t face the customers they’re ripping off. It’s worth driving to the next town to get real Chinese food instead of being robbed by this “restaurant”.
Terrible food! Should give this place negative 5 stars! Never eat such horrible Chinese food in my life. Brought 6 dishes from this place, they all ended up in the bin. The only thing you can taste from them is salt!
This is one of the worst places I've eaten for value for money! They charge $9 for shoe string chips that were cold $15 special fried rice that had one piece of pork and one prawn the rest was ham square pieces not one pea or any veges, and satay chicken that was also $15 terrible food with a 25 minute wait. I had to come back and ask why the chips were stone cold and $9 for a small cup and they sent there 10 yr old son up to apologise! All this after driving for 5+ hours stay away.
Being vegetarian I had vegie fried rice and stir fried veggies in garlic sauce. It was delicious. Love the polite young boy helping out his parents who made a point of telling me that the wok has had meat cooked in it. It’s the first time in 45 years that anyone has informed me of this. I didn’t mind, so all good- but it is a sign of respect. Been there a couple of times passing through now. Will go again.
