I reviewed this location many years ago with one star but I'm happy to say that things have definitely improved since then. I hope it wasn't just a particularly slow day and they had little to take care of but I don't think so. The staff were extremely friendly and very caring of my situation and my privacy. They helped me more than I had expected and it was a really nice surprise.

The staff here are very helpful. All except the female social worker that was working monday, the public come here for assistance, and guidance not to be patronised. Everyone has different requirements and ability levels, some struggle more than others. I wouldn't like being judged by someone who barley knows me. No one would Please Don't ever judge people, even disguard them( That person sitting opposite you with tears streaming down their face may possibly just want to get what's botled up inside out .) If you don't know the full facts don't say anything just listen it's a pitty that the only response was have you had a mental health assessment, wait what ! You have only just met the person and all you can say is something cold cruel, unfeeling, it is also harsh and very uncalled for not to mention unprofessional, that person there may not have anywhere else to go or any one else to talk to that person could have been kicked out of home, or even worse. P.s everyone had the right to complain!, Telling someone they can't is against their rights!) it's a pitty, that all the other staff need to be tarnished because of a social workers insensitive words. The public, like the staff are entitled to respect and courtesy, yes when people are upset they make rash decisions and say things they will regret later. Centrelink should look at employing councilors for clients to have some listen to them and not judge them. It's amazing what having someone to listen and that's all can do to a person whose possibly had the worst day of their life.

Sue is absolutely terrible to deal with. Avoid her like the plague. All the other staff are nice enough though.

It always hard at a Centrelink centre to have a pleasant and efficient experience. At Brookvale my experience was that the staff were helpful and tried to resolve my needs by listening to my plight and offering different alternatives to help me through. Chatswood was closer but Brookvale is so much better.
