"Central Taranaki Automotive is a local business and is owned by Kevan & Wendy Old. Kevan & Wendy have owned the business for almost 10 years, since have employed 6 staff members. Kevan Old is an Auto technician and has been in the trade for 35 years specializing in Toyota vehicles. Gary Old and Isaiah Hemopo are both Auto Technicians also. Ricky Howells is in his final year of his Apprenticeship and Matthew Edser is completing his 1st year Apprenticeship. Wendy Old manages the office and Deanna Old works alongside her also. We can repair almost every thing that you could possibly break with all our different skills!"

Absolutely brilliant service, my camper van was towed to the garage. The reception staff were lovely and the workshop guys looked at the van straight away and it was sort within an hour. Great communication and reasonable prices. I always use this garage for my vehicles as the service is excellence. I would definitely recommend. Thank you for saving the day!!
Had an excellent experience at Central Taranaki Automotive a few weeks ago! I called on the day desperately needing an oil and filter change and they fitted me in straight away. Kevin was wonderful with advice, as I’m not a car person, and gave my car a safety inspection and wash too. Very reasonable rates and didn’t try to overcharge as so many mechanics do with solo female backpackers. Really great service and would recommend . Thanks again!Services: Brakes
Excellent Service Friendly in Garage and Office..,Drove in and They looked at it straight away..and booked in within 24hrs. Other places nearly 4 weeks and more wait..Quote was True to word and Informed me of another issue they found and booked in , in 24hrs..They try to keep price down as much as possible we all know parts etc have gone up They text when Vehicle is Ready , and Vacumned inside and a bag of sweets left on the seat..Great People Great Service..Wont Go anywhere Else..Services: Auto interior vacuuming
I popped in late in the day when concerned about a noise my car was making. The team immediately took the car for a drive, determined the issue, and replaced the brake pads on the spot, even working a little extra time after hours to complete the job. I had expected to make an appointment to have the work done at a later time so was pleased to have the issue resolved so quickly with no disruption to my work schedule. Great service and much appreciated from a very convenient local business.Service: Brakes
We had a customer that had an issue whilst on the road. The mechanics fixed the issue as fast as they could as they recognized that the customer had a trip to continue. They went above and beyond even driving 1 hour to get parts. Great mechanic and would 100% recommend.
Excellent service. Brought my car in for a general service and to check out a noise it was making. Turns out it urgently needed a new water pump. Central Taranaki Automotive Stratford got the part in from New Plymouth and installed it that same day in addition to completing the booked vehicle service, much appreciated. Highly recommend this business.
Last saturday my dad's car battery broke and he needed a new one, there were absolutely no shops open that had car battery's. We called Kevan and even though it was the weekend and he was busy he very happily came down and got dads battery sorted all while smiling and being happy about it. Lovely people and very helpful. Only shop my dad takes his car to and always gets exceptional service.Service: Battery
Just bought a new vehicle that needed new tyres. I'm not mechanically minded so a bit apprehensive with mechanics treating me stupid but not this place! What a fantastic friendly business. I dropped by to find parts to fix the wheel arch / mud guard on my car which had come lose before my long drive to Tauranga for Christmas. Everyone was so friendly, not only did they locate the parts required they also fitted them while I waited. Nothing was too much trouble, great service and all with a smile. Broken down at four square in Stratford Kevan came and look at it and offer me help,he tow the car to his garage and went out his way in finding a part for the car he also keep me up-to-date with what was going on. Treating me like a valued customer. I would definitely recommend him to everyone and will be using him from now on
