A good place for stopping over for a meal on your way to the attractions within the Catlins. Food is decent, quite a good selection of sweets, mains and sides. Chilli pie was good, and chips we're excellent. The outdoor seating is perfect on a fine afternoon as well. Smoking is not discriminated upon, great job!

Great! Barista knows her stuff - coffee was superb both times. Cheese Rolls very tasty. Our recommendation.

Expensive coffee, charged extra for a dash of milk in a long black! $10 for 2 coffees and we provided the cups. Would have to pay extra to fill water bottle and they were not busy. Otherwise service was quite good. Coffee was also pretty good.

The steaks were warm not hot and the "squid salad" was more like squid on salad(same salad as one of the entree's side-salad). Everything that tasted ok was probably defrosted deep-fried food. Seems like the kitchen is run by amateurs yet they charge quite a lot!

I went here with a curious attitude due to the bad reviews(plenty 1 star votes). Over priced - confirmed, passive agressive service staff - check, mediocre food/beverage quality - yes. I would like to add; Poor music selection. Visiting this establishment definitely qualifies as "dark tourism". And in that aspect it's a "must visit" in Owaka.
