Casino Canberra is well located in the CBD and adjacent to Holiday Inn. My friend and I spent time there watching the serious players and pros on the Roulette and Black Jack games... Definitive rush of adrenalin being there...
Okay lost at the tables but you have to expect that when you gamble, so my issues have nothing to do with that. What I took issue with were the premium prices for alcohol, combined with exceptionally bad service times. No point getting angry at the bar staff, management who are raking it in should ensure sufficient staff numbers on what is their busiest times and nights.
Decent table game options, quite small sized compared to Sydney and Melbourne Casinos. No pokies at all. Usually not too crowded, but has sports on Big TV for those interested.
Not very big casino but looks good. We went there actually for late night dinner. The food was really good. The only thing was, the tables were empty but wasn't really clean. Maybe lack of staff due to Christmas holiday. We weren't offered drinking water too. But anyway, good for late night food & snack as there's not really many options around. Parking nearby wasn't hard to find. & it was free.
Crowded but not too busy, yet despite the amount of people many tables were not operating. Lots of people standing around doing nothing and waiting for a spot at an open table, myself included. What’s the point of going to a casino if you can’t even play a game? Some more tables to play at would greatly improve the experience.
I have been to every mainland casino in Australia now. And Canberra’s is my favourite. It’s small but beautiful and there are no pokies/slot machines. We went on Valentine’s Day and unfortunately the fancy restaurant was on doing a set menu for $99 each so we ate in the bar and it was lovely.
I was quite disappointed with the casino in Canberra, only one floor/room, no pokie machine license ? And roulette tables and screens very outdated. I think calling this a casino is a real stretch.
Friendly staff great location table games only and no pokies my wife was disappointed about that
Was blown away by how good this place is! They had really nice wine, cool table games. It's set up really nicely. My one and only critisism is they don't have texas hold 'em poker. But I understand why: it's a small casino and would be hard to keep the game going. But nevertheless, I'd go again and was glad I did last time!
Not very many games, no craps table either. Very much wanted to play texas holdem and only one table, which was fully occupied. I waited 20 minutes and still wasn't able to get a seat.
