We had a fantastic stay at Ovolo niche Canberra. The lolly bar on arrival was a great touch. We were made “super guests” which came with cake, cocktails, breakfast upgrade, and late checkout. I have never had a hotel experience like it. It was fantastic. I wish we stayed longer! Also the mini bar being free.. wow. Will definently stay again and recommend to others!
Lovely ambience and decor. You can tell they have put a lot of effort into the feel of the place and it feels great. Very modern but understated. Service was impeccable from reception staff. Only small minor thing is for a couples stay with a king/queen bed, they had two single beds together. But a thoroughly enjoyable stay overall and I will continue to stay here whenever I’m in Canberra.
Simply amazing. We and our bulldog were made to feel welcome and special from the moment we arrived. Alena at reception was friendly and attentive, and there were many bookings in a wonderful experience. Our room was ideal. Our bulldog had his own bed, complete with a pillow, as well as new toys, food, and a personalised letter. The bar and breakfast were both excellent. Everything was fantastic, and we will definitely return.
I cannot wait to go back! Honestly the best place I've ever stayed at. Everyone from the gentleman who took my call to the lovely ladies at reception and the staff at the restaurant were so friendly and helpful. They even gave me complimentary wine and free dessert! The architecture is stunning and really thought out. I wish I had stayed longer to be able to fully appreciate all this hotel has to offer.
I write this review in relation to the EV charging facility. Do not rely upon this facility too much. Firstly, you must pay $35 to take the car down to the parking level for the day/night. And when you get there you will only find two domestic power points hanging from the ceiling. Its insufficient if you have an EV to expect to get a full charge. Ovolo should install dedicated EV chargers with a minimum 7kw/h power output before they can seriously offer EV charging. Apart from this, it's a great place to stay. I use it every time I stop over in ACT.
Having had it with Australia's boring and dated 4/5 star hotels, I decided to try something completely new. It didn't take me long to fall in love. The Good: - Beautiful decor with personality - Free minibar! - Friendly but casual staff - I don't usually like veggies that much, but the restaurant, which is vegetarian-only, was surprisingly good The Not Good: - The rooms, while beautiful, are too dark. It's hard to fix hair or put on makeup in the bathroom. There should be extra lighting around the mirror. - The bathroom has no exhaust fan. Coupled with the open shower, the floor stays wet even overnight The Unusual: - You have to go through the restaurant/bar to access the reception, which is weird and can be a bit loud during weekend nights - Prepaid parking, you need to get a ticket before you head upstairs
We were celebrating a special wedding anniversary; management and staff made us feel extra special with an awesome treat. We loved its location, the food, our room, the service and the staff. Don't forget to book online and be spoilt with all the perks. Thumbs up Ovolo Nishi.Rooms: 5/5
If you are paying around 400 for a night you expect a sound proof room!! We could hear neighbours flushing noise, noises from outside!! The room smelled funny!! Then we saw the vent was full of dust!! I haven't seen such a sad morning buffet in a claiming to be 5 star hotel. We drove from Sydney had a sleepless night then had to drive back the next day. We loved the interior, location wise it was great for us as well.
For a whopping $500+ per night actual "luxury hotel rooms" for $600+ per night, you should expect standard 5 start hotel experience, if not top 4 star hotel equivalent. However what we got was a fairly small room with cheap dirty furniture, even the plastering on the wall that looked like concrete is so badly done that you could see cracks and the screw sticking out of the wall. The entire room screams the word "cheap", cheap bed that hurts your back, cheap door lock that hardly locks, cheap desk, cheap almost everything although there are few exceptions but nothing in this room relate to the word "luxury" The bed sheet and towel were not clean which caused us skin allergies, I was itching the entire night. Not to mention the noise outside plus no air-conditioning.... Would not return again!
Room was super tiny , facilities were not as stated on the booking Noisy room - during the night could hear water running through the pipes like as if we were in some poor establishment. The washing products in the bathroom were empty and not refilled even during our 2 night stay not checked. Stated we will get a goody bad daily as much snacks unlimited supply this did not happen. Free mini bar poorly stocked as well , just coke , water , beer. Also free coffee and tea - only 1 packet of coffee for the entire stay Overpriced over marketed , overall very poor service , would never stay here again at Ovolo Nishi in Canberra Have stayed on other Ovolo hotels in Hong Kong and in Sydney pre pandemic time , is this post pandemic situation?
