"Family owned and operated since 09’. 1/6/2009.Burmese curry place has been the go to place for a fast and filling curries with rice combo in the city.We are a no frills place that values the word of mouth culture from backpackers to executives in the capital who want big serves at reasonable prices.We have only 9 curry options.You simply choose up to 2 choices which we chuck on top of jasmine rice which we prepare right in front of you from our Bain Marie. Self serve pick up your meal or accompanying drinks and that’s it. Enjoy!FAQs:- We do not take reservations, walks in only.- Curries 1,5,6,9 are our GF options. I went for a second time 2 months ago on another trip to Canberra and it was as delicious as before. The curries are extremely flavourful and generous with the meat and seafood. A great cheap lunch with 2 curries and rice for $10. Fast to serve and very friendly staff.
Honestly some of the best food I've ever had. I got the pork and beef and the flavours were amazing. You can tell the owners know good food. And $10 a plate is just a steal. Highly recommend!!
This one is a gem - Super Simple Menu, very affordable just 10 bucks, quickest service, yummy curry food, in the heart of Civic, take-away / dine-in options. Perfect place for a yummy cheap super quick lunch in civic. They have numbered the curries so easy to choose. You get two curries with rice with a drink for $10. I recommend number 7 & 8. :
Amazing value for a filling and delicious meal! Just $10 for a choice of 2 curries and a drink is included. The egg curry and beef & potato curry was really yumm. Good quality meat and nice tastes. Highly recommended for a quick bite in Civic.
Home style. Authentic. Real good food and you can tell there is love. Dime in a dozen places like this. Do not sleep on this joint if you’re looking for amazing food with lovely service.
Delicious food, well priced. Friendly service. Can't fault it. Consistent flavours week after week. Highly recommend it. 10 bucks gives you two curries and rice and a drink.
This is excellent. Enjoyed their egg and fish cake curry same sauce the first time and enjoyed it so much, we got t/a on our way back to Sydney. We tried 5 of 9 dishes and we d defn come back on our next Canberra visit just to have the egg/fishcake and beef curries again. The value and generous servings are a bonus.
Soooooo good!! It's only $8 now $10 for a generous serving. Highly recommend that you try it out, both eat in and takeaway. The egg curry is the most delicious.
Was pleasantly surprised having not being to canberra for some time that the Burmese Curry Place was open again. You really can't go wrong with any of the dishes here, $10 for 2 curry choices and rice is one of the best deals going in the city for lunch. Pictured is "Sweet Pork" plus "Beef and Potatoes"
delicious cheap convenient if could add money to change rice to steam vege would be better and healthier
