Story

Carlos Cantina is an independent Mexican restaurant.
We are not one of those run-of-the-mill franchise outlets nor are we one of those pretentious celebrity chef restaurants with hefty prices to match.
The people behind Carlos Cantina are simply a bunch of Mexican food lovers who are passionate about serving freshly prepared value for money Mexican tucker to our guests. We love what we do and we hope it shows in our food and service.

Went on a Tuesday initially excited for the 30% off deal however this was misleading… believe GST is not included in their menu prices maybe, ended up being charged close to the same as what full price would’ve come too. Also got the half litre frozen marg which was 27 dollars, and this seems like a lot for a minuscule jug of watered down margaritas that only fill two small cups. Asked for plates for sharing and got mini plates food couldn’t even fit all onto the plate! Staff were nice enough but not very attentive. Probably won’t be back was an expensive outing for a pretty mediocre experience.
Absolutely one of my favourite Mexican places of all time. Food is perfect. Staff are friendly and attentive. Beef Enchilada Enourme is my go to meal.
Brilliant food. Great margs Allan ourceaiter made the evening. Attentive but not intrusive. Knew the menu backwards. Was our first time and we will def be going back.
Carlos Cantina in Croydon is definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants in Melbourne. The food was super fresh and tasty, with great presentation. We also really enjoyed the cocktails — they were just as good as the food.nHowever, the service could use improvement. The staff didn’t seem very professional. They kept coming over trying to clear the table, which made the experience feel a bit rushed and stressful.nSome of the staff handling drinks were also quite rude and rough — slamming the cocktail glasses on the table without much care.nStill, the food and drinks were great, and I’d come back — just hope the service gets better.
I loved it!nHighly recommended, the food was great! We really had a great experience there! Will come back for sure!
