Story

Personality plus and volume to the max, Cantina is a cohesively chaotic Mexican eatery and bar underneath St Kilda’s iconic The Prince.

Feast on traditional Mexican cuisine at its most authentic, robust and passionate – from bite sized bocaditos and sticky finger street food, to queso fundidos, mains and mole.

Must try their burger!!! Huge meal but one of the best I’ve ever had and I’ve ate at two burger restaurants by Gordon Ramsey! The meat the pickles the sauces on it are so delicious! Awesome little hole in the wall. Service was just okay as to why the 4 stars, could have refilled our water and asked us if we wanted more cocktails.

We love Mexican food and we were pretty excited when we found this place. We had soft tacos which were packed with flavour and had the perfect amount of spice. The bar is pretty spectacular to look at and the bench seat/couch made the place feel really cosy. Next time we're in St Kilda, we will be back for sure.

Positioned in a dark basement type of room in the heart of the Prince of Wales - great ambience. Good taco selection. $17 Margaritas which is a little overpriced or $35 by the jug (about 4 glasses to a jug) which is a bit of a no- brainer if there are a few of you.

I really enjoyed the Mexican food here. The lamb enchilada was very satisfying and the tacos were reasonably generous. There’s a bar with moderately loud music at the front and a quieter restaurant at the back.

Fantastic Mexican cuisine. The calamari I had was cooked perfectly and the friendly staff were more than happy to help me with tequila recommendations.
