Love love love the food here! The tiramisu is perfect! Loved the pizzas and grilled pork with Brussels sprouts too. Would definitely recommend this as I feel it’s a highly underrated place to check out at Applecross.
We loved our dinner at Canteen Pizza! The food and dining atmosphere was great, but our waitress Carlee, was the reason our night was so memorable. She was so attentive, kind and funny who shared some great recommendations with incredible table service. We will be back and hopefully we are lucky enough to get Carlee again.
Food: pizza bases have a nice thick crust but they are quite thin elsewhere. Due to the thinness, they can get quite soggy and the toppings were light. We ordered an eggplant pizza but I found the eggplant/veggies were sparingnnTopping options aren’t extensive but they have a good variety of deli meats and vegetarian. Options include adding a burrata for about $8 to any pizza, which I liked. Pizza size is not large, enough for two people to have 3 slices each if you want to share.nnLocation/facilities: in the heart of the applecross village with plenty of parking options at the front. Venue is new with a nice bar in the middle and tables/booth options.nnI however was very disappointed to find no change table facility/nappy disposal in any of the bathrooms, and they didn’t have any high chairs available so we had to keep our 1 year old daughter in the pram.nnAs a pizza restaurant I would expect high chairs to be available since pizza is such a family-style meal.nnService: excellent, staff were friendly, took our order ahead, and smiled and checked on us throughout.nnPrice: expensive, about $25 for basic pizzasnnOverall: nice pizzas, dough is delicious but thin. Lacks family-friendly facilities, toppings are light and pizzas are pricier
Beautiful place in the applecross neighbourhood serving gourmet pizzas. Staff were lovely, warm and accommodating. We stay from their late breakfast till lunch menu as we were having such a good time. Will be back!
Friday night get together with my beautiful lovely asian friends! This was my friends choice, didnt know what to expect and boy I was surpised! We ordered pizzas beef tartare which i didnt take a photo of, fennel salad, porchetta for 4 which was served shredded and super juicy, squid something and cocktails! Everything was fantastic. The flavours are light but tasty.. no specific flavour stands out but it was just really good food, there' simplicity and beauty with the flavours.. i really enjoyed it. With the atmosphere.. there's that homey high end kind of vibe, when you go in, it feels curated but then when we started the meal it felt cozy and relax. We we're seating outside so it was cold so thank goodness there was light heating from the ceiling. Service was spot on too! Only little commeny for me was the drinks menu, i thought i was handed a colouring book without the colors .. it was cute but its not a wine bar so i didn't think going thru 50 pages im exagerating! Of drinks list was necessary. Will bring my sister next time!
