As a member of the Rotary Club of North Hobart, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Calvary Hospital's Community Care committee for the $5000 grant we received this year for our Steady on your Feet Falls Prevention program. It has been an honour working with CCC this year. Led by Mr Tony Brennan, Director of Mission, we have had a genuine partnership with Calvary, which has increased the value of the stand-alone project.
Have a family member there at the moment and the staff are lovely. Every time I've called they have been so friendly and helpful. Now that I'm visiting I can see how warm and responsive the nurses and doctors are and how fast things happen. They make patients feel comfortable in difficult times. Their modern, mobile equipment e.g. x-ray machines, means that patients can be examined without leaving bed. And the quality of the meals impressed me too. Keep up the good work Calvary
I had fusion surgery of the spine and was told numerous times I would have my own private room, instead they kept me in a double up waiting room with an elderly man who abused me the entire night when my drip machine was beeping, the next day him and his partner carried on about me and abused my partner for bringing our daughter in to visit saying she was being loud. I was told several times when a room was available id be given one, while I was there my partner seen 2 rooms free but they still made me stay in the double up and then an asain worker told me quite rudely because I am on work cover I don't get a private room because I don't pay private health. That's bloody ridiculous surgery was over $80k and the bill for staying in hospital was over $20k and I have to stay in a double up with people who carry on and abuse me it's disgusting from the hospital. They forgot to bring me my tea so my partner had to follow up and the same asain lady got really crabby with me because my partner rang asking about why I was given nothing to eat. No one who is paying over $100,000 to be in hospital wants to spend it not being able to rest because they're stuck in a double up with other people who are rude and noisy and have some staff be quite rude all because I am on work cover? It shouldn't matter if it's private health or work cover they're getting the cash regardless and should treat everyone there with respect and care more about their patients well being. The asain lady was nasty to me multiple times and should get in trouble for the way she treats people.
I attended the Hospital today for an arthroscope on my knee. I have nothing but positive words to say about all of the staff that I dealt with.nI can’t thank them enough for making my experience a pleasurable one.
I was last a patient here more than 30 years ago having babies . It is still a lovely place. Everyone is so very kind to an old lady. Menus are varied and delicious. I have a great view over New Town and can even see the river . Nursing staff are incredibly thorough and helpful, so very nice and smiley too.
