I have suspected genetically high cholesterol. I am underweight and eat very well. Rather than receive any potential explanation as to why, I was told that I should diet better and loose more weight.
As a carer for a relative with complex medical disorders and who exhibits barriers to appropriate self care, and comprehending, much less adhering to medical advice or treatments, I cannot thank the staff ot th NICS as a whole enough. On numerous occasions during routine visits they have given prompt and sound medical advice to seek emergency treatment immediately. I have no doubt their professional advice and empathic and non-judgemental communications and empathy for directly saved my relatives life on at least two occasions that occasions. Without their expertise and judgment, it i likely that my relative would have had a dangerously high risk of mortality, or at best, exacerbated acute morbidity requiring extensive care in the under resourced and over worked ER and ward. This is just my experience, I get the distinct impression that my experience is not unique. Although all of the multidisciplinary staff I have encountered at the NCIS have been extremely helpful and professional, it is evident that the exude true compassion and empathy for their clients, beyond merely performing their duties and fulfilling employee obligations and quotas. The manage to go the extra mile and explain complex and critical information and how it pertains to health and disease in a common language that is digestible to patients and carers with lay to little understanding of complex medicine. Their approach as team appears to be focused not merely to treat diseas, but to promote health prolong quality of life, through an combination of pharmacological, educational. thorough examination of current and prior symptoms between visits, to monitor and promote health, restore function, enhance well being, and prevent further illness, all whilst performing their duties in a professional and, non judgmental, and empathetic approach, that would be worthy of an Oscar if it were a mere act as opposed to caring for their clients with genuine compassion. The NCIS team are truly life savers and do their best to assist with preserving quality of life, and preventing illness, all whilst treating their clients as fellow human beings rather than health professionals servicing patients. Their ability to communicate clearly express understanding of patients unique barriers to treatment and offer tailored advice is unique to the needs of the client has demonstrable positive effects in my extensive observations as a carer. I am treated with respect and th staff communicate information and answer questions to in me ways that are comprehensible and enable me to provide a better level of care. I feel actively involved in the treatment and it is understood the better that I can care for my relative and empower him to manage self care where possible, can make a real difference in health outcomes, beyond the periodical visitations. I have nothing but admiration, gratitude, respect and trust in the NCIS team, and I would encourage anyone to seek their services when applicable or refered or preferably before if it becomes necessary if possible. They contain a wealth of knowledge and have an ineffable way of conveying it to their patients/careers in the form of comprehensible health promotion/ illness management/prevention education that translates to saving, extending, and improving the quality of the life of the public. The NCIS are an invaluable service to the community and the public health sector. Special shout out To Sharron Jonson who has been the service coordinator and has gone over and above what I had come to expect the underfunded-over burdened health system. Sharron, thank you so much for your invaluable ongoing care and support for my family member, and no doubt that of many others who would be equally grateful to have access to your services.
Attended lung boosters recently. Top people.
