To say my experience at the Launceston General Hospital has been good would be an understatement.nnI cannot fault the care and service of the women’s health plus team and midwives during my pregnancy.nnHaving moved from Queensland and originally having seen the midwives at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital and then transitioning to a smaller general hospital for my care was nerve wracking.nnHowever, the care I have received and continue to receive is far superior to the care provided in Brisbane.nnThe women’s health plus clinic is in a newer part of the hospital and has an amazing administrative team that goes above and beyond to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner and their appointments can be lined up at a time that suits them or is as close to a time that they can actually attend appointments.nnThe midwife’s in both the women’s plus clinic and the maternity ward are incredible. They are not only caring and never bat an eyelid with silly questions. They genuinely love and care for the women and babies in their care.nnThis was my first pregnancy journey and the care provided has genuinely made this experience so enjoyable. I have loved each person who looked after me.nnIn addition to this the extended midwife services provided has been amazing and invaluable as first time parents.nnWhilst the hospital is in genuine need of updates throughout and the parking needs improvement I cannot recommend the care model provided more for women looking to give birth publicly.
Had to come up from Hobart TAS as they could only do it up here. Since I've been here 4 days the staff are friendly and professional they will always be there and ask if you are comfortable and need anything. The surgeon's did a quick and professional job and explained everything very clearly.
Myself, my partner and our 2 year old son were on holidays visiting from QLD when our son had an asthma attack, we were taken into emergency straight away and care was provided for our son very promptly. We were lucky enough to have dealt with Karen in ED who was absolutely beautiful beyond words along with another nurse who was very sweet to us! Once transferred to the Wombat Ward we were met by a wonderful young nurse who looked after us all day/afternoon and then another wonderful group of ladies that night. All staff made us feel at home, made sure we were comfortable and well looked after. I am beyond happy with the care our son received as well as the care provided to us as parents. Thank you to the beautiful staff who work at this hospital, I am more then satisfied with the care provided and cannot thank the staff here enough for everything they did for us and for everything they do for people in general! They don’t receive anywhere near enough praise for the difference they make in people’s lives let alone the lives they save everyday.
Taking this legally ignored since Saturday filed formal complaints to Viney Joshi as per Christie coordinator details. Not heard a thing back post injury or complaint, called today to be hung up on by the EA2 executive officer who refused to provide her name despite being asked 5 times.nThe legislative breaches and duty of care failures on ignoring a patient with head injury and leaving them to go home with 3 dislocated ribs is beyond me! The findings I have had confirmed by doctors now post ED presentation twice is shocking, the fact that every staff I have tried to speak to today at LGH has refused to give me their name/ position in the company or put me through to someone higher up is beyond unprofessional and a breach of many legislations & governing bodies.nInteresting to see this is how they will handle the situation as well rather than speak to the patient still experiencing pain & injury due to poor assessment by ED TWICE. Sad that patients have to advocate so deeply and get legal assistance involvement to get anywhere.
Really like to thank the staff at the LGH for the magnificent care of my wife , nursing staff doctors are truly amazing , what really amazing is the attitude of some patients with there rude behavior, not one of these young people go to work to be abused, , once again thanks all , for fantastic care
