I’ve been a regular user of CMS’ services over the past year or so, but since CMS has recently purchased some second hand machines and is doing his own checking & calibration, I have actually been appalled at their sales tactics, delay in service, excessive fees & adherence to quality control. We recently had a calibration service provided on a piece of equipment because we were having problems with a critical application. We not only received the equipment back 3 weeks later, but the final documentation took over 4 weeks. The delay this caused us in not only downtime, but upon receipt of our equipment being returned it was put back into service immediately to find we were having the exact same problem, even though it was said & documented to have been re-calibrated. This was not the case. Upon sending our equipment to another provider, it was discovered that our equipment had not been re-calibrated or adjusted at all!! Considering the exorbitant fee charged & not to mention the lengthy delay in getting our equipment back to us, we discovered they did nothing to rectify our issue. My concern is our equipment is used in critical applications that put people’s safety at risk. This was obviously not taken into account and the certificate provided was clearly false and misleading. I question this company’s legal obligation in ensuring their certification. I am not prepared to state the company for where this problem initiated due to legal implications that CMS could potentially have caused us, but will at least provide this warning that if appropriate training was not acquired by CMS for the calibration equipment they are stating is certified by machine & their user/s, then be very wary for your own OH&S requirements. These are not just versatile tools I am referring to; this is critical equipment that requires certification for a reason! There is no give or take, it HAS TO be right.
