I reported a water leak, the team have just left having completed the task of finding, sorting and dealing with the culprit. They completed this in quick time and left the area clean and tidy. A job well done! Thankyou from a happy ratepayer.
We live at Wrights Creek, just outside Edmonton, Monday night at around 6pm the pensioners across the road noticed a water leak around the meter, which caused some distress as they are 86 and 78. We rang the CRC and about an hour later one of the plumbers from Gordonvale came to the rescue, his name was Derrick and he was a very competent plumber and he loved his job at the CRC. He spent quite a while digging in the mud, getting soaked, and getting eaten by mosquitoes while repairing a pipe about the same vintage as the oldies. Derrick is old school and we rate him highly as a plumber and a real nice guy. Council workers get a bad wrap, I want to give a special thanks to Derrick the legend and the CRC for the service they provide. Cheers Derrick.
Cairns Regional Council is a terrible council. They overcharge in rates and yet don't even provide kerbside collections, green waste disposal. They have meetings at 9am so normal working people cannot attend. They think its ok to use our tax payer money to ensure they receive higher superannuation. The mayor earns over 200k and the council is bloated with employees and waste. They are woke with recently changing Australia Day protocols. Vote them out in the next elections in March 2024
The council building is well designed. There is a customer service area where you can pay bills and ask questions of Council staff. There is a nice cafe on the ground level as well. In the picture I am in the small park area at the rear of the building.
I’ve called here twice and both times have gotten really sweet and patient people who are doing everything they can to help me find my lost cat as well as updating me on my missing cat reports and asking if I want to lodge another missing support. Just really great customer service.
