Quite a unique menu with mix of some more traditional brekkie dishes and some different ones. Good coffee and hot chocolate. Reasonably priced. Not a huge number of tables so advisable to book ahead.

Ok food but lacking atmosphere or customer service. Had to wait a good 40 minutes for eggs when there were only three other small groups in the cafe. A smile wouldn't go astray either.

When this place first opened it WAS amazing, friends and I were regulars. I’ve been here 4 times in the last 6 months because each experience is becoming progressively worse and every time they forget our drinks and stuff something else up. Today we waited 45 minutes for a coffee (and a juice that never came) and when we gently reminded them they said it was because they were busy when it’s clearly because they forgot to put it through (for the 3rd out of 4th visit). If you ask for anything you’re an inconvenience. The avocado serving is about 1/4 of what you used to get and a $3 serve of feta is enough to fit on a teaspoon. The food has gone down hill and the service is now shocking. What a shame!

City brunch prices for Syndal (Blackburn Road) was a bit of a shock and unfortunately the taste didn’t match up to my expectations. It fills the spot in the market but is falling short of other Eastern Melbourne suburb venues. The space itself can get very loud especially when it’s full. Perhaps only worth it to stop by for a takeout coffee.
