Food was nice and chicken dishes are recommended with extra noodles, quite a good mix. However the service was so so, food took too long to be served apparently it's a family business and they don't have enough people to help out
In short an over priced and average tasting meal. Service was ok , the place was a bit run down.We won't return. Food took way too long to be served, we had a strong urge to cancel the whole order, but we waited patiently. The Lamb Pilaf worth $15 had barely 2 tiny inedible pieces of lamb which were more than 80% skin/fat, very disappointing. Stir fried egg plant wasn't too bad but the family sized minced lamb pie was bland. The lamb skewers & chicken wings were a bit overcooked to my liking but still ok to eat. Even though we spent over $55, they charged us an extra $1 for paying by card , like rubbing salt on the wound. They need to lift their game to survive, as the competition in Glen Waverley is cut throat.
The food here is simply tasty! The noodles are amazing, the skewers are to die for, the sesame/chilli beans are an ongoing delight. We will definately be back for more of the same. Service is really casual and accommodating. A little gem that needs far more exposure.
The food was really tasty but the amount of meat let this place down. The lamb pilaf had three pieces of lamb in it and the chicken and potato noodles only had pieces that were mostly bone. Such a shame since the food itself was really delicious.
Tonight's meal was a winner. If you want authentic homemade goodness and are willing to be patient, then you will be fed. We usually order lamb skewers, lamb and veggie handmade noodles, steamed dumplings, tomato based soup and lamb pilaf. Lots of parking close by too.
I will give 0 star if I can. Do not come here because when u are trying to comment on food which are really really bad, I don’t normally complain about any food unless they were really bad, and I am local Xinjiang so I can tell what is good or bad, the owner was just trying to find award excuses. And what she said was “ she didn’t make the noodle so I do not know the taste” and she “does not care whether we will come back or not”. I don’t believe with such an attitude this restaurant can live long. Please find other uyghur restaurants in Melbourne if you can. Do not come here !
Food is not as tasty as other Uyghur restaurants in Melbourne, but much more pricy. Lamb was average and bony, bread was soggy. Didn't tell us 30℅ extra price in one dish upfront when we wanted to change one ingredient during ordering process. Bank card surcharge was very high. I am not happy, will not come back.
tepping into Bugda is like wandering into an inn along the Silk Road. Located in the quieter precinct of Glen Waverly, this restaurant is located on the 1st floor, entrance just next to O'Town. Seating is pretty generous and tables are located on either side with a fairly wide aisle in the middle. The many times I've been there, no issues with getting a table and black tea is served immediately upon seating. The menu is fairly extensive, daunting at first but after a while you'll notice a pattern consisting of 'laghman' or pulled noodles, bread and skewers. The noodles have a very interesting texture and I find it quite similar to thick pasta. With Uyghur cuisine, there is a dominating use of cumin, pepper and dry chilli. It's a culmination of Turkish and Chinese culinary culture. Serving size is pretty generous, especially their plates to share. On the flipside, service can be slow at times despite only having a few tables. I'd recommend at least trying it out just for the experience.
Food was great. Lamb skewers, noodles and dumplings big ones were spectacular in taste. Can't wait to try the chicken skewers and lamb bread. Great service from friendly staff.
Worst food ever..I would not even give a one star...served cold ..looks like even the microwave is not working. Lamb kebab was very chewy with lot of fat..we left hungry..I could rate this as the worst restaurant in Glen Waverly ..when I point that waitress was angry..saying that it's their country food and that's how they eat ..there was no any meat on any if the dishes...yuks.. Will never go back again..waste of time and waste of money
