Came here to get the take away picnic boxes they used to do to eat in the gardens. Was disappointed to find they no longer do these so instead had to dine in. Very limited vegetarian options on the menu. Salad was the only option on mains. Coffee was average and tasted burnt. Had to add sugar to make it palatable. Food was ok but slightly over priced for what you get. Next time I think we will bring our own picnic and have it in the gardens!

Dropped in here while visiting Heide. We came in for coffee but had brunch instead. I had poached eggs on toast with bacon. While it was a little expensive for what you get the quality was really good. The staff were attendive and friendly even though they were really busy. The coffee was pretty decent too.

After hearing the cafe at Heide MOMA Bulleen was being taken over by new management, I was excited as the quality of both food and service had been dropping dismally over the past year or so. For years Heide has been a go-to destination for family and friends because let's face it, this area doesn't have a great deal of high quality cultural spaces and eateries on offer. On my first visit since the take-over I was nothing short of disappointed, & treated quite dismissively by management (possibly owner?) and sent away because cafe was closed early for a private function (was no notice advising this). We accept and understand early closure sans warning, but not to be treated disrespectfully by new management. Looking forward to some future day where this cafe gets the right recipe and balance for an excellent food experience, which reflects its high prices.

Nice coffee, yummy cakes selection though ug would've been nice to have a light savoury selection as well rather than a full meal.

Such a shame the gallery and surrounds are let down by what is a terribly run average cafe. It obviously only survives based on its location. I was in the middle of ordering when the waiter simply walked off and started dealing with another patron. It was such an ordeal apparently just to order coffee and cake and it certainly was not worth the wait. Coffee was well below average with plenty of grit (clean your machine) and cake had the same old bought in blandness. As all parents would know it’s a limited time span with kids, and that’s ok but the wait is ridiculous. The owner is the rudest most disrespectful person I have seen in hospitality.
