Amazing little Vietnamese restaurant just off Brunswick street. They have a pretty simple interior but the pho was perfect for a rainy day. I would’ve liked the soup to be hotter but it was generous and delicious. The cuts of beef were good and the broth was fragrant. The home made chili sauce was also tasty.
“Pho Fitzroy” is an unassuming family-owned and run eatery that is not on Instagram but believe me, their food is unforgettable. My husband and I are still dreaming about their Combination Broken Rice and Combination Beef Bowl $12 each, and wished we had revisited them tonight rather than the more well-marketed Vietnamese eatery. And why does the former still linger in our minds? Well, it came in a large portion and had an impressive assembly of smoky, juicy and very tender grilled pork, springy strands of chewy shredded pork skin, a perfectly fried egg, lots of pickled carrot and radish, tomato and cucumber on actual broken grains of rice. Each component was superbly fresh and faultless. Frankly, typing this post is making me salivate. As for their Combination Beef Bowl, we found the silky ribbons of Pho joined by plentiful sliced rare beef, brisket, gelatinous tendon, tripe, as well as housemade beef balls and a particularly fantastic beef sausage also made in-house. The broth was light but boasted a pronounced beefiness. I adored the rather fiery chilli paste they offered as a condiment too. Definitely returning here when we are back in Melbourne.
2 star since my first experience was good on Deliveroo. My last two order of the grilled chicken rice were not very good. The food came hot but the meat came reheated. It’s too tough and dry for chicken thigh.
Wanting to start the Monday with some soul food, pho came to mind. I came across this place on DoorDash and so I ordered the Pho with Sliced Beef $17.50, excluding delivery charges. It was hands down one of the best pho I've had in Melbourne so far. Full marks on flavour, quality, quantiy and presentation. The beef was rare and fresh, just like the broth and the beansprouts that came along with the dish. I'm definitely going to visit the restaurant and try out their other offerings. My new favourite Vietnamese restaurant is here!
Amazing pho - hit the spot on a rainy Melbourne evening! Perfectly arranged for takeaway, with a rich broth, quality rare beef, and nice assortment of chilli paste & dressings. Also really enjoyed the salt & pepper ribs, really generous portion and went great with the tomato fried rice. Really enjoyed everything we ordered from Pho Fitzroy, it was great value for money and ill definitely be back.
This is a hidden gem. Really quick and nice Vietnamese food. The beef in betal leaf was perfect. Grilled chicken and rice was great. The satay dishes were good. We enjoyed all of it. If we are in the area we would def return. We would recommend. If you pay cash they also discount.
Very quiet unassuming joint but the pho is mind-blowingly good. Didn't expect much of it but the pho here is truly great!
Absolutely delicious, Pho Fitzroy pulled us through the first two lockdowns and now moving house during lockdown 3.0 we are so greatful for their consistently outstanding food for such an affordable price. We regularly love to get the salt and pepper ribs, pork spring rolls and satay pork stir fry! Their new dumplings are to die for too!
One of the best Pho’s I’ve had in Melbourne. Portions are great and the food is fresh and delicious. The Vietnamese coffee was nice and strong too! Great service really friendly!
Customer service is non-existent. Ordered pick up via an app and they said 20 minutes. An hour later still no food and no eta. Another guy was waiting and had to go pay for more parking he was waiting so long for his pickup. Never again.
