I had a very HORRIBLE experience at BWS Nambour today.nnI fully understand and respect BWS’s ID25 and Responsible Service of Alcohol policies and I had no issue with being asked to provide identification. My concern was with the way I was treated during the interaction by Chel!nnWhen I explained that my ID was in my car and that I would ask my partner to assist, Chel’s tone, body language and manner of communication were unnecessarily confrontational. The situation became so confusing and uncomfortable that another customer stepped in to calmly explain what was being said.nnAfter retrieving my ID from the car and returning to the store, I was shocked to hear Chel refer to me as “the koala is back” in front of other staff and customers, apparently in reference to the grey coat I was wearing. I found this unprofessional and disrespectful and it made me hesitant to walk back in.nnAfter completing my purchase of a very expensive bottle of wine, I advised that I would be contacting management. The Chel responded with, “I don’t care, I have witnesses,” and then loudly stated, “this customer is not always right!”nnAs a 34-year-old mother of three and a teacher, I have never experienced customer service like this. Had the situation been handled politely and professionally, I would have simply collected my ID and completed my purchase without issue.nnI have contacted BWS Customer Service and requested that the matter be investigated. Based on my experience, I will not be returning to this store and neither should you! Completely UN-Australian and DISCRIMINATORY!
Great service. Staff are friendly, and quick to help.nA good selection given the size of the store. Dan Murphy's will always be my favourite, but BWS Nambour is my second
Even though the parking is dreadful and the store tight and dingy with a ramp only access - these are not the reasons for a 1 star… it goes to Chel! The old rude bag behind the counter who could be heard from outside the store verbally insulting a customers clothing today- referring to her as a Koala as the woman walked in wearing a faux fur coat
Certain female staff member working wed afternoon 24th needs some customer service training she is extremely rude and unhelpful, this isn’t the first time I have had bad service from her. Will not be buying there again.
As others have noted- terrible customer service. Two people serving with about 8 people waiting in line- the male staff member looked like he was coming off a drug binge. The woman who served me was rude and unhinged to the couple in front of me then proceeded to tell me off first for getting cold wine bottles instead of room temperature ones, then got abusive when I paid with cash. Unbelievable what is supposed to pass for customer service these days!
