We recently stayed at Mildura, Buronga Discovery Park by the river. This was our first trip as a family of 3 and it was perfect. Despite it being the middle of winter, it was still enjoyable, the fishing location was good just not the catch.nMy daughter made some new friends at the playground, and so did her puppy. nThe peaceful setting made for a truly relaxing getaway, listening to the gentle flow of the Murray River, The park has that real bushland feel about it which makes it stand out from other parks.nThe sound of the wildlife instead of cars is always a win for us. My daughter and I travel frequently so we get to enjoy what most parks have to offer.nWe got a great vibe from the park and it was the first time taking our puppy and staying in pet pet-friendly accommodationnThe staff were incredible—friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The facilities were very clean, and well-maintained, making everything very convenient. We can’t wait to return in the summer months to soak up the sunshine and enjoy this beautiful spot again. Highly recommend!
Absolutely fantastic park.. Wonderful staff..nEasy access to the city..nClean & well serviced amenities..We had an ensuite powered site and this was pure luxury and very reasonably priced.nLaundry was clean and easy to use with a tap & go system..nBeautiful views of the river..lots of bird life..nGreat communal fire pit..nHas 2x pools too..nCamp kitchens were immaculate with lots of room with a few tables & chairs..nWe really enjoyed our stay nThe only downside was the road noise which sounded like v8s racing and loud music from across the river until the early hours..
Spent a great week in a riverside CP site June 2025 Winter getaway. Great view over river. Watching paddle steamers come and go. Walked over bridge along river, park, lock island. Beautiful location. We chilled for most days, wife fished. Holden museum close by was great. We had 18-22deg days for most of the week, which was brilliant mid June. Last two days very windy and we bunkered down inside. Reception was helpful on check in and each time I needed to drop in.nAmmenities were cleaned regularly.nnOnly improvements I could think of was maybe trim a few overhanging gums on riverside sites. Also, possibly clean up fallen leaves. Understand this is better when the last leaf has fallen, but were some places where leaves were quite deep to walk through at night. Thanks, will visit again. 8/10
The details I would like to share is be very aware if you have a Travel Auction. I had to cancel my booking due to medical reasons. I will admit I did not take out the insurance on the Travel Auction but I have been doing these for over 30 years and have never had to change my booking. It was not in the 14 days which they specify but sometimes things happen which are out if your control. There was no negotiations that were acceptable to the Mildura park they just cancelled my travel auction and took the money. I am a pensioner so that was a big hit to my back pocket. My fault as well I know but it was off peak and I’m sure they didn’t need the sites. Staff would not bend and even head office would not help. Be very aware.
Great park right on the river. Very quiet, town across the river. New facilities as the floods have been through here. Plenty of sites and very busy. Can walk to town but it's a distance. Good spot.
