I have asked bunnings previously in email to review their staff training and security policy. As I find constantly checking my designer handbag, myself well dressed, spending $50 each week in the store both to be an invasion of privacy and insulting. Today approx 1.30pm a mature staff member in the gardening dept. Made a sarcastic remark about the time it was taking for an older lady paying for and transporting her goods to the car. I was irritated as the staffer also did not bother to assist the older woman in putting her goods back on the trolley. The older woman stressed, I told her not to worry. My partner and myself had a basket load of goods and our hands full, the staffer huffed at my partner as he struggled to find a barcode for her to scan, knowing we would have our hands full she did not pack our goods in a box (Which other bunnings stores do!) to make it convenient and turn over customers faster. when I just said "oh I'll just take the basket to the car and bring it back" she rudely said I couldn't and that theirs boxes around the corner, meanwhile she was already serving the next customer huffing at us as I couldnt pack my own goods from the checkout fast enough. To irritate us further only after I packed my arms full of goods did a girl ask to check my bag (Which again is incredibly personal and insulting when you spend so much money at bunnings each week) so I had to put down all my items onto the floor. All other bunnings stores staff provide common sense, convenient service when purchasing goods so as to speed up customer turnover and not make things awkward for the customer. This staffer and a few others have been riddled with attitude and laziness at this store. If this is happening to a young 20 something that purchases goods every week, imagine the effects on the high demographic of seniors in the area, whom require assistance and common sense staff. I'm understandably angry with how that staffer treated the former customer, my partner and myself. The laziness and attitude was not only unnecessary it reflects badly against your stores helpful, handy representation. I recommend management review or train staff. I also would like an apology as this is happening too often lately and making my experience at my favourite store, bunnings incredibly miserable.

FORGET BUNNINGS WHEN IT COMES TO LPG "SWAP & GO" ! Today I experienced why I should deal with professional LPG dealers in regards to gas refills or swap & go places. After using the $19.90 Bunnings "Swap & Go" gas exchange service, my purchased exchange bottle unit experienced several issues with turning the gas valve on & off. (was tight & at times seemed to jam) Feeling that the bottle could fail in this area of the valve & it could become "very-unsafe" to use, I returned the bottle back to the Hervey Bay Bunnings store & was advised at the tradesman gate to leave the bottle outside the gate & go in & see one of the trade staff to discuss. A XXXX from the trade-counter came out & inspected the bottle & proceeded to test the bottle valve with his hand & made the comment that all feels normal in his opinion & he couldn't see anything wrong with it. I proceeded to advise that I hadn't gone to all this trouble of returning the gas-bottle without the genuine concern that it was faulty in the area of the valve. Although in XXXX's opinion it was fine, I had experience genuine problems & safety concerns with the bottle & I wasn't just making it up. After further discussion (on-goings), XXXX proceeded to offer me another gas-bottle free of charge, but was quick to comment that my gas-bottle wasn't full. Yes it wasn't full as I had used it at least three times in the last two-weeks. I wasn't too interested in the contents gas level, more the safety issue & I was at all times more than happy to contribute a $$ towards another gas bottle. I went to proceed to put the new offered gas-bottle in my ute in the trades-area & was advised that gas bottles cannot go into the building, so it was placed at the other entry for me to collect on exiting the trademans drive-though area. On picking-up the bottle & placing securely in the back of my ute, I liaised again with the young man at the gate over the matter & advised him that I wasn't too-happy at all over the way this matter was dealt with & discussed. XXXX the gentlemen from the trade counter again came over to see what was going on & I again discussed my dissatisfaction of the handling of my concerns. I even asked for the old gas-bottle for the second-time to be tagged-off as possible faulty (un-safe), but I was again reminder-ed by XXXX that all bottles are checked & tested back by the supplier. 1 - When is the trades people licensed & certified to advise me that "he-feels" there is nothing wrong with the gas-bottle valve & cannot see why I cannot continue to use. 2 - If its Bunnings policy that all gas-bottles are only kept outside the building, then why is the gas-bottle I returned due to my genuine safety concerns considered by XXXX to be safe to take home & continue to use in my BBQ area which is located partly in my home. 3 - When is a Bunnings staff member an "expert" in all aspects of LPG in commenting that the gas bottle appears to operate normally & therefore can see no issue with it. (a gas bottle is not an everyday garden hand tool - its a very "dangerous" unit if the valve was to jam, fail & later result in an explosion) 4 - Would Bunnings take full responsibility of all my losses & possible injuries if I had continued to use the gas-bottle knowing that I had concerns with its safety & the matter wasn't taking seriously by Bunnings employee. I have been happy buying products (all types of goods & services) at Bunnings since they opened their retail hardware stores many years ago & never been questioned as a customer on anything ever returned. Especially a item of dangerous goods. Simply "NOT" good enough this time Bunnings !! PS - As for gas bottle "swap & go" at a cheap $$ price, I have now gone back to purchasing my own 9kg bottles & get them refills by a licensed certified gas refill centre.

Nice furniture. Friendly staff in garden centre. Uncomfortably hot inside Bunnings in summer, not pleasant. Good range of goods. Good advice and help from staff but not enough staff as there originally was.
