Really disappointed in my first experience renting a car through this company. Check in and pick up of vehicle was easy enough - they advised that the car had general wear and tear. I drove the car probably 3 times (very short distances) over the 3 days I had it. When I returned it they told me that there is chip in the windscreen, which was so tiny I could barely see it, and charged my credit card an extra $200 to replace the whole windscreen. They told me they do not fix chips, only replace the entire windscreens. When I asked for photo evidence that the chip was not there before as I do not believe it happened whilst I was renting it, they told me they don't take photos before the cars are rented out only when they are returned with damage. Just really disappointed that I was hit with an extra $200 charge on something so miniscule. Lesson learnt.

Typical budget dilemmas cant reccomend any less service was terrible and i was charged a second time on a debit card without any permission or being informed. Will contact bank and ombudsmen this time disgraceful.

During the check-in I realized that I forgot my driving license in the hotel, and they offered to drive me to the hotel, which was really nice of them. The car was almost new. I always have good experience with Budget.

When one does not make much money, to be given an online quote of $200 to then be charged $520 (because the small print about insurance was so small, and being a first timer at renting a car I had no idea this would come as an extra) was only the beginning. Then, to have that $520 come out of one's account when one's holiday had just started, only to have part of that returned to your account, so you assume that they've refunded the insurance because you did no harm to the car. And then, one WEEK later to have the full amount taken out again so that your account is now overdrawn because again, you don't make much money. It's a bit of a muck around and it's quite stressful. Budget, you need to get your payment system fixed so pending payment come out STRAIGHT AWAY and stay out, and make insurance charges more obvious when doing an online quote.

Just be aware. If you return your car earlier than the due date, it takes 3 weeks for you to receive the money.
