Story

OPENING APRIL 2014

Black Flat Coffee brewers is dedicated in bringing the finest quality coffee to the locals of Glen Waverley, formerly known as the suburb of Black Flat in the 1800's. Located at the end of the station ramp with a handy service window and a scrumptious selection of take-away breakfast options - its your perfect start to the day.

We open early at 6am to serve those on the very first train, bus and other early risers!

We are passionate about our coffee and thats why we source our beans from the most amazing roasters at Axil providing deliciously smooth and consistent blends day in day out.

We have a great selection of breakfast items that you can sit-down and munch in the morning sun or take-away with you to your next destination!

Nice, small coffee shop, with a friendly staff. If you're dairy free, their chai syrup has dairy in it, but their latte with dark chocolate is great.

Really impressed by the speed of the service and quality of the coffee and bagel. Was initially worried that would take ages because it's a tiny place. But staff were friendly and efficient. I'm really happy with the value and quality of the salmon bagel $10 only. Conveniantly located close to the station

The morning had begun long ago for some, yet here he was, staring blankly at the trickling sludge of commuters dribbling towards to the station onwards to the their prison for the day. Yet, the smells of coffee installs a sliver of life in the masses of shambling cadavers, faces lit up by the furiously flickering light mobiles. And it was this that plunged him out of the dreary morning - slate grey, overcast skies, a low moan of a wintry breath - into the welcoming warmth that had been carefully nurtured by its proprietors. A heartfelt smile, a genuine interest in what he wants, and mere moments later, the world was just a tad brighter, with a good cup of Joe and a delectably sweet Portuguese tart. An elixir of life, he thought, sipping the strong brew, feeling the caffeine stirring his very fibre along with the delicious aroma wafting through his senses. He was now ready to join the commuter’s flood - not as a lifeless corpse, but a Smith.
