Established in 1990, Pine & Bamboo Chinese Restaurant offers a doorway directly to the flavoursome delights of China, right in Cannon Hill. Amongst the local Chinese community, Pine & Bamboo is widely regarded as one of the finest Chinese restaurants in Brisbane - therefore that it's best to MAKE RESERVATIONS in advance.

What lured my friends and I to Billy Pine's restaurant was their signature Peking Duck. In order to have the meat and skin together, I was advised to book and let the staff know ahead of time otherwise it takes an extra 45 minutes for the meat to be cooked.  We were not disappointed, with Billy carving up the duck himself at our table. The skin was crispy, and the meat well cooked and tender. We also tried the sweet and sour barbecue pork and the cold pork hock, both of which were delicious.  There's no doubt that the Peking duck is pricey, however, totally worth it if you were to come in a group and share.  Would come again!

Star of the show is still the duck, should preorder the duck so that you can the skin and meat! If not you don’t get the meat apparently. Overall the food was pretty decent and good! Definitely good for groups to share as well.

The Peking duck served here is so awesome! Sauce is good & the duck skin was crispy. The cucumber and spring onion gave it a refreshing taste. Highly recommended. Waiting time was approx 30 minutes but the waiter did forewarn us.  I did get other dishes to try but they weren't exactly to my taste.

I have to say this is probably the best Beijing duck I have had in Brisbane. Had Beijing duck in a few Chinese restaurants but here is the best. The duck skin is very thin and crispy and that’s how Beijing duck is supposed to be. Love the duck soup too, very delicious. Will definitely come back.

Brisbane's best Peking duck. So far I haven't found anywhere else that compares. The pancakes are my favourite course, and if that's all you want you can have just the one course. The skin is delightfully crisp, expertly cut thin and with no meat which I prefer. The other dishes are okay, but Peking duck is the star here.

Always get the peking duck at Billy's! I love going with my family, great place to host a large dinner. They have lots of westernised chinese dishes, most of them are great. Good service and nice wait staff.  Kid-friendliness: Yes child friendly  Parking: Can park downstairs too ramp on the left

We got takeaway tonight and ordered spring rolls and fried rice. The fried rice was $16 and it wasn’t even fried. The spring rolls were $8 for 4 and they were the skinniest spring rolls we have ever seen and had nothing inside. The main dishes were just ok,  Bad bad bad. Would never go back and waste money there not sure why it has so many good reviews! Awful

Peking duck must be eaten.  The skin is crispy, sweet and juicy.  The first choice for family dinners.  The service staff are very warm and friendly.  I will visit again.

We were disappointed and feel ripped off after reading the reviews. The food  was very, very  ordinary.  The spring rolls had no filling, it was all pastry. The satay chicken had an excessive amount of onion, we struggled to find the chicken. The beef dish was the same. The fried rice was bland. I actually asked for a menu for future orders, well that went into the bin with the left overs.

Came with a group of friends and we thoroughly enjoyed the Peking Duck. However, the other dishes were a bit small in portion and the taste was just average.
