Talk to these guys if you’re visiting Hobart and want to ride - excellent bike hire options at very reasonable rates ($95 per day for mid-high level road; MTB options available). Central location, passionate staff and open early - you couldn’t ask for more. Highly recommended.

Bike Ride is the best bike shop in Hobart. This is why: 1) it's a local business in a great spot. It is really convenient to go to if you are in the middle of town. 2) they support women's cycling and encourage women to ride. If you don't understand something they don't look at you like a deep sea animal and instead spend time explaining it. One staff member spent 20 minutes teaching me about the components in a hub. 3) if you buy a bike from them and your position/fit changes they'll refit you for free. I've had mine adjusted 3 times now. The same goes for saddles. I didn't like mine and they let me try 3 different ones until I found the one I liked. 4) the staff are great to talk to and obviously love bikes. 5) they'll do great discounts on multiple items/demo bikes/ect. 6) I've only had two maintenance issues and both have been fixed quickly. Certainly there is stuff that can be bought cheaper online but why would you when you can support a local passionate business that is working to improve cycling in Hobart?
