Date: Tuesday 1st July, approx. 2:15pmnnLocation: Big W North LakesnnI am writing this with deep concern and frustration following an unacceptable incident involving a staff member at the store entrance.nnAs my partner and I were leaving Big W with our newborn, a woman stationed at the entrance took it upon herself to approach us and make inappropriate, judgmental comments about our child. Among other things, she told us that we “shouldn’t have a young baby out in public”, despite the fact that our baby was safely secured in a clean, fully covered capsule with protective mesh.nnHer remarks were not only uncalled for—they were intrusive, offensive, and completely out of line.nnThis experience has had a serious impact on my partner’s mental wellbeing. Postpartum anxiety is very real and should never be dismissed or exacerbated by ignorant and unsolicited opinions from staff. What was meant to be a simple outing turned into a distressing and triggering encounter.nnWe have never had any previous issues with Big W North Lakes, and have always found the staff professional and respectful. However, this individual’s behaviour was unacceptable and has left us both shaken and disappointed.nWe hope Big W take appropriate steps to ensure no other parents are subjected to this kind of treatment in the future.
I was in the store today looking for a product and I had someone by the name of Thomas who was extremely helpful. He went everywhere to find it and found a similar product. He went to all parts of the store including the storeroom.
Haven't been to big w in ages was impressed with Manchester and homewares, got everything and more of what I needed and wanted tysm
Big W has a large range of well priced reasonable quality products including clothes, homewares, toys, apparel, kitchen and basic hardware.
Returned a faulty tv and got a replacement which was on special at over $90 less. So they kept the original receipt and gave me another one with the sale price. Again the same problem occurred so returned the tv again and was told the refund was only for the sale price which was less than the original purchase and was told that was the amount I paid for the first tv. Without the original receipt I had no proof and they did not want to hear my plea. An absolute bloody rip off and am never shopping there again. It’s back to good old Kmart from now on. Staff need better training for these issues.
