Couldn't call the store on a Thursday evening due to their phone system restructure. Had click and collected a toy for my daughters birthday, got it home and it was missing parts and broken on the bottom. I work full time and sorting it on the same night would of been amazing. I should of just bought from target, in future I will.
The best part of this particular Big W is their party shop. It’s a fun party resource to have and there are plenty of options available. See photos.nnThis Big W store has a large footprint and it’s easy to just get lost in the vastness of it all. It doesn’t feel like it holds more stock, it just feels more spread out.nnStaff are usually quite helpful but they can be hard to find if they are not part of the checkout, customer service or technology service counters. The phone assistance is always great.nnI think one of Big W’s general challenges is that they lack a point of difference that makes them unique or specifically worth travelling to. Sure we go buy ‘stuff’ there but there is not much that we buy there that is not available elsewhere. The prices seem to be lowering which is great but it’s still a brand that has very little sparkle. If they were generally 20% cheaper than anywhere else we would definitely shop there more. Wouldn’t you?nnThat being said - their shop hours are super handy and that is much appreciated!nnNote the party shop has more independent hours from the store and closes earlier.
I just left BigW Chermiside very impacted with the poor quality of service, especially with the disinterested, sarcastic, and uncaring manner of the store manager. It is almost ironic the explanation given for a situation that makes no sense at all, as if it were something that I should accept without surprise as a consumer. I don't know if it is a matter of lack of humanity/empathy or arrogance or prejudice. I left the store feeling deeply saddened by the treatment I received while also thinking about the way these employees are trained. There is, without a doubt, something very wrong with this environment.
Was buying a switch case and the cashier was very nice and friendly, we had a nice conversation about Nintendo switches. Got a cool case and a nice conversation out of it
Purchased a gift card with the value of $160 and the money was never put on the card I was given and the sales attendent did not give me the activated card. BIG W Chermside were suppose to investigate this matter and call me but instead they did not call me and I had to follow up with an email and received a response with out any evidence stating they are not able to help me. Police report is now lodged from the theft from BiG W Chermside.
