Besser is a casual Italian diner and bar to enjoy great food, wine and cocktails in a fun informal environment. Inspired by the backyard parties of their Italo-Australian roots, Besser is a fun offering of traditional Italian cuisine, wine and hospitality to make one feel like they have been invited to a backyard birthday bash of their family friend or Italian neighbour.

Great staff, good vibe. Had the 3 course set menu - totally worth it. Plenty from the starters so we were able to try most dishes. Pictured are the 3 pastas to share between 3 of us + salad. Will definitely come back to try their other share plates.
Portions were HUGE, desserts were delicious. They feature a lot of blue and goat cheese, so if you are not a fan, be prepared ! Pastas were perfectly cooked and the red cabbage salad was great.
Trifle expensive 20%, but good food and ambiance. My server Deborah was absolutely spot on with wine and food recommendations. Cap off “Italian” evening with walk down to Messina for Gelato.
Ordered the fritti, meatballs, papadelle and carbonara to share. Whatever cheese they use is potent and absolutely over powered every dish. I have been burping it up all night. Nothing special about this Italian - I would never return or recommend.
Looks better than it tastes. Surprised by all the 5 star reviews. Excellent service however, and nice wine. All our food was sub-par. Pesto was a bit acidic. Don’t recommend the eggplant.
