Delicious coffee and food. I had the hotcakes and my husband had the bacon and egg muffin. My only issue is that we had drunk our coffees slowly and were finished by the time our meal came out. Lovely little cafe otherwise and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Had lunch and coffee here, overall we had a great experience! The food was delicious done simple and well! Full of flavour and tasted fresh! The coffees and juices where 10/10! Iced coffees where perfect and the mocha was delicious! The juice shot also was great and full of flavour and tasted nice and fresh! The venue is gorgeous and provides a beautiful spot for lunch and coffee! Overall I can’t really complain about anything other than the staff where friendly but where a little bit odd but they still where nice! Overall I have to give Berta a solid 5/5 stars and i will be returning here again soon!
Amazing place to have Sunday morning breakfast. The staff was really nice and so accommodating with our dietary requirements. Food was delicious and fresh and beautifully presented. I had the spring onion pancake with sticky pork belly, o.m.g. I wish I could have this dish on a regular basis! Highly recommend and will definitely come back next time I'm in Hobart.
Pros: staff are attentive, and friendly. We got a table very quick. Even though, my palate inclines to Asian cuisine, I can see food are well prepared and presented . Small space but well decorated and arranged. Cons: there’s room for improvement in coffee. Hence, overall rating. Would recommend to others. Ove
Food Fresh ingredients, delectably served in generous portions. Prices $$ Location Service The charming waitress nearly made up for the owner who despite it only being 9:30am, had already decided that we were all going to share in her bad day. Although I appreciate good sarcasm, she went a bit further by making you feel as out of place as a dyslexic at a spelling bee. Compounded by constant incorrect and confusing orders, I can see this being the weakest link. All up we rate this place 3/5 stars
I can see why this place appears on “best breakfast” and “best cafe” lists in Hobart. I came with friends for breakfast for a weekend in Hobart and the food was fantastic I had the avocado toast with hummus, soft boiled egg and za’ataar, chai and then a hot chocolate. Friends had mushrooms on toast, croquettes and other delicious looking food. I definitely want to come back on my next Hobart trip so I can more on the menu!
Tasmania trip last minute as usual due to ever changing covid restrictions . Brunch at @berta_hobart - wonderful food in a nice ambiance . . Spring onion onion pancake, sticky pork belly, crispy shallots, fried egg, radish salad: . Baked dish can't remember the name with potato, chorizo, fried egg, avocado, tortilla. This was a really interesting dish! Super tasty with lots of great ingredients .
The breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend the house mad muffins with a trout and Turkey breakfast in the menu, you’ll not be disappointed! The coffee was good to.
Efficient breakfast and coffee in Hobart city centre! - Fitout = warm, minimal Melbourne vibe with large share tables, open skylight, fresh greenery. Relaxing and contemporary music I visited 9am Sunday in the off season. - Service = friendly, greeted within 5sec and served as I was ready. Quick coffee and food delivery. Very efficient. - Offering 1. Scrambled eggs on toast - 5/10. Meh. Lacking flavour, slightly watery and inconsistent. Basic. Delicious butter:toast ratio, rye bread. 2. Long black - 9/10. Crema, temperature, water:coffee ratio, speed, flavours. 3. Total spend = $27. I also had a immunity juice $6. - Bathrooms = had to ask for location > they are out the back door, literally through the kitchen. Pros; watch the kitchen doing its thing ! and seeing all the fresh food. The bathrooms are fresh, pretty and have two cubicles. Cons; super stressful navigating the kitchen as though I was in their way and it wasn’t busy and felt toilets were more of a ‘yes, we have them, and use them if we HAVE to’ situation unfortunately this is a building design thing. Overall vibe - I wouldn’t rush back as I didn’t feel that it was amazing, however, Berta was doing everything right; service and design wise. I would recommend for their specialty dishes as these looked exciting. Also great for fast service, but I have heard it can get pretty busy and as it is a smaller/narrow venue this review may be different for peak times, esp in Summer season. Overall, a good, quick, friendly and peaceful cafe.
An eclectic selection of brekky meals on the main strip in Hobart. The service was quick and correct. The coffee is smooth. The food is flavourful. They gave us steak knives to use for the sourdough which was appreciated
