The staff were lovelynHowever the car was more than obviously dirty with dirt and rubbish from prior customers. The aircon smelt strongly of cigarettes. We had to go back in and report marks on the car that weren't marked on the paperwork. Dings and scratches hadn't been checked overnTire pressure was also low. I'd not rent through them again.
Jack absolutely knocked it out of the park today — an absolute legend.nGreat conversation, friendly, down-to-earth, and genuinely refreshing to deal with. He made the whole pickup process smooth and enjoyable.nnThe only downside was the vehicle’s exterior condition, which looked like it had been through an off-road track rather than matching the otherwise flawless service experience.nnAdditional note on the vehicle provided:nThe rental car I received was a 2025 Haval.nnPros:nPacked with modern tech and features that reflect the typical approach of newer Chinese-produced vehicles — plenty of screens and convenience features that many drivers will enjoy.nnCons:nFrom my experience driving on Australian roads, the vehicle felt quite unfriendly to drive. The handling and overall driving feel weren’t particularly intuitive, and I imagine newer drivers might find it unpleasant compared to other cars available locally.nnPersonal opinion:nSpeaking as a 40-year-old Australian driver used to local road conditions, the driving experience was disappointing and not something I would personally choose again.nnThat said, Jack’s service was excellent and a real highlight of the experience.nnOverall, Jack himself was outstanding and a real credit to the team.
Pretty good experience with this company. First time booking with them and it was easy.nnCar feel a bit run down, I had an MG that was scratched up and the steering wheel and cluster controls were covered in some weird sticky residue I had to clean - it didn't feel like the car was cleaned between rentals.nnWhy only 3 stars? - for the following reasons:nn- Staff told me I could return the car and use the key drop off due to my early flight and the desk not being staffed.nn- Used the key drop off and then for the next two days was smashed with SMS messages and emails asking me when I would return the car.nn- I had to reach out to the central call centre to tell them I had in-fact returned the car 3 days earlier and used the key drop off and was then told 'oh that should be updated in a few days then'. Pretty poor form when it takes over 3 days for someone to check the key box or look in the car park at the returned car.....nn- Finally, the biggest hit is the reason why I'm writing this review. It has been a non-stop barrage of emails and SMS messages asking to write a review and rate their service. More than I've received from any other company or service I've used. The hype r-aggressive nature of an email a day is just total BS. Nothing worse than companies that implement automations like this and have no guardrails in place, instead just hammer you with spam.nnWhile I got what I needed, a car rental and did the job, I'll be renting and will happily pay more from another company just to avoid the spam.
The staff at checkin were lovely and very attentive. On return I accidentally left a bag in the back seat, it was before opening and I had dropped the key in the after hours box. I was very lucky that a staff member was in the office early and happily assisted in retrieving the key so I could get the bag and not miss my flight. The only negative was the windscreen was not clean and the car had a faint smell of cigarettes.nI would definitely use Bargain Car Rental again.

I really appreciated the great customer service and would happily recommend Bargain Car Rentals Sunshine Coast to anyone looking for affordable, dependable car hire. I'll definitely book with them again on my next visit.
