I bought a car which had recently had a major service and a QLD safety certificate from Auto Brakes. This major service was supposed to include replacing all leaking oil seals, amongst other things. The car shortly after purchase showed that it was leaking from both rocker cover gaskets, however, the leaks had been masked during the service.

After speaking with Mark (licensed mechanic) he said that the leaks were not repaired as they were not considered bad enough for a safety certificate and they would certainly not consider any warranty work. He then said I would have to get them repaired which somewhat contradicted his first statement of they weren't bad enough for repair.

I guess I'm just a little annoyed that I got stung by a dodgy mechanic, and the response I received from them demonstrated unprofessionalism.
