Absolutely fantastic the staff are so friendly and have such a wealth of knowledge. They have so much dedication with the animals. Plus if you spend a little extra you gat to experience interaction with various animals. Can not recommend the zoo highly enough.
Brilliant day out for everyonenLots to see and learn, it will take a whole day to see everything.nA wide range of animals and in some of the best conditions I've seen for animals in captivity.nHighly recommend the behind the scenes tour of the hospital. The staff are superb and very informative.nThe cafe is good and reasonably priced.nLots of shops around the park with plenty of souvenirs.nnIt is possible to get there by public transport, but plan ahead.nThere are storage lockers too so you don't need to carry everything around.nIt can get very busy but as it's a large site it doesn't feel it, apart from at the cafe or the crocoseum.
I injured a lizard in the backyard - lovely little chap who has been around forever - squashed his tail. Didn’t expect help would be forthcoming but I was wrong. The team from Australia Zoo picked him up in record time and took him to hospital hq for some surgery and “TLC”. So grateful - it seems there are others out there that don’t consider him ‘just a lizard’.
With the extra couple bucks. It was nice to see little baby animals and others being taken care of!
Such an amazing zoo. Staff are so friendly. They had videos of Steve Irwin playing around the facility which was nice. Open green area with kangaroos where you can walk around. Also a walk through koala area where you can pet koalas in the presence of staff members. Good gift shop. The behind the scenes animal hospital is very interesting to see.
