Good range of food, menu and counter. Great coffees etc. Informal relaxed décor. Nice  quiet music. Lunch and evening meals. Prefer my food on plates rather than boards though.

The coffee was fantastic.
The meal was good but small.
The table hadn't been wiped and the place had a dirty smell.

I am loath to even award one star. If I could award minus 5 stars I would do so. 

I had what was probably the worst coffee I've ever had. 

The tables in the lovely courtyard were littered with ashtrays that were water filled, with cigarette buts. A soggy nicotine soup festering away, and as far as I know they are still there. A member of the kitchen crew came out and added further buts to that filthy mess, left it all there, making no attempt to clear the tables.

I will never return to what was once NY favorite eatery in Te Aroha. My recommendation is to avoid this establishment.

Just finished cycling the rail-trail (brilliant!) and we thought we deserved a little drink. Stumbled on this place and couldn’t be happier. Lovely traditional UK pub look / feel, friendly staff and the spirit of the town represented (newspaper articles re the towns history on the wall). Would recommend and in all likelihood we’ll be back.
