The best meat I’ve ever eaten. Very kind and polite staff, clean, excellent service. Just look at the empty dishes. I strongly recommend this restaurant
Cozy place, good service. The food was good and the service was good. The starter and dessert are spectacular, the meat, which is the main dish, very disappointed. It tastes like a used grill, and is not well prepared. We ordered the two best cuts, the pure steak is chewy, dry on the outside and the only taste it had was that of a grill used every day for months, same for the entrecot rib eye. Big disappointment. The evening was made up for by the spectacular cream broule!
If you like a great piece of meat, this is the place to go to. From the starters to the main course, everything is of the highest quality prepared as it should be. But the real dining experience wouldn’t be perfect without great service and this is exactly what you’ll find at the M-Eatery.
The stake is very good. And the personal is kind and very professional.
Upon entering The Meatery, you are immediately surrounded by elements and interior that appeal to the meat-eater : raw fireplace wood, warm lighbulbs, black wooden tables & visible hanging meat. Service and advice is spot on, very kind, and very attentive. A must try for any seasoned meatlover.
Nice place, appealing interior, just so unfortunate they ar elected in the ugliest part of Mechelen... gray and with a really ugly train station on the other side of a busy roundabout BUT once you are inside and have been received by the friendly, efficient and helpful staff you forget this detail. We're here for the food bot for the view out of the window! And that part doesn't disappoint! Starting with a great tartaar of beef with just enough seasoning and a lonely apple caper or a duo of shrimp crocket sumptuous and richly filled with grey Northsea shrimps. A feast to start after some appetite improving cocktails. Then came the main and here we chose for a hefty Cote à l'os, dry aged and massive at 1,3kg in weight or a simmental filet pur for some one with a smaller appetite the Jogen oven did them proud and the meat was perfectly cooked and rested. My taste buds are still in overdrive and unfortunately for us there was NO room left for dessert. One of the better meals and worth every penny!
Must try in Mechelen for great meat !!

Fun service. Extremely correct and fast in taking orders, having a laugh, still behind efficient. Very expensive though, but the food is very nice overall. Didn't quite like how salty some stuff was, but the meat I had was real good and they have Grimbergen beer on tap. Was my steak saignant or bien cuit though? The important eternal question. Can't really complain, all in all, I guess.
Me and the family reserved a place as we weren't able to get a table the previous night. The service was first class, the staff remembered our names and we were wined and dined throughout. The food was great to. Didn't realise how much Mechelen had to offer but there's plenty to boast about when you have services such as these around. 5 stars
