Bought a $16500 van from Asahi... extremely pushy to deal with and wouldn't even be bothered getting a jack for us to look over the vehicle. Within the first week had issues with leaking oil, diesel and turbo pipes from the start which should have been picked up in the AA check they provided. Now it's in for some major repair work to the turbo and exhaust systems. Called them and they absolutely do not want to know about the issues and state they are not liable and will not work with us under our consumer guarantees rights. Absolutely plain rude over the phone and so disrespectful to their customers. They also told us over the phone that they were a member of the MTA after both my husband and I specifically asked them. After calling the MTA to try and solve the problem they have no record of Asahi Motors.

Bought a $16000 van 1/8 - had problems with it 17/8 phoned Asahi and they said it was South Island Diesel and assured me it would be fine. Broke down 18/8 in Blenheim. Once again phoned them - they didn't want to know. We said we would get it towed to Toyota dealer - it cost $5000 to fix and we are claiming 1/2 from Asahi - because we require the van NOW. They will not come to party. They are NOT honourable - BUYER BEWARE

Fantastic Dealership. Asahi Motors really came through for us, Ayano made the entire process so pleasant and easy! She is very good and really has wonderful customer service skills, friendly, helpful, polite and great communication. She had all the paperwork and warranties in order. We purchased a NZ New Toyota Hiace for our business. They had a wonderful selection of quality vans and were willing to give us a really good deal plus threw in some things that we wanted that were of considerable worth to us for our business. These guys know how to get a van ready for the new owner! We came to Asahi motors after being disappointed by MotorMe down the road and I am so glad we bought our van from Asahi motors, we drove it back to northland very proud and satisfied. 100% A+++
